Raytheon Space and Air division in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Principal Embedded Software Engineer to be part of their product development teams.

What You Will Do:

• Design, develop, and test software based on software trouble reports in an agile, collaborative environment, delivering builds

• Demonstrate critical thinking skills, the ability to thrive in small, empowered teams, and an intense desire to directly enable our customers’ success

• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing code for performance and efficiency in complex environments

• Write and maintain comprehensive documentation for software applications, including system architecture and design specifications

• Participate in agile execution and continuous improvement

• Work collaboratively with multiple engineering disciplines to analyze, implement, and test system modification requests to the existing system baseline

• Ability to get and maintain TS and Special Access Programs (SAP) to meet program's clearance requirements.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) AND a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.

• Experience with software development, test, and/or integration using C, C++

• Experience with Scripting languages like Python.

• Experience with System and Software blended skills including::

• a) Optimization and Analysis

• b) System of Systems Resource Management

• c) Modeling and Simulation – kill chain analysis

• d) Tracking Software Integration, output analysis, and algorithm development

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Bench support, familiarity with platform engineering tools

• Clearly communicate plans, status, and issues to teammates and program leadership

• Ensure the successful integration of software components into delivered products

• Experience in Object Oriented and scripting languages

• Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements

• Experience contributing to a team environment for the purpose of developing creative solutions to difficult technical problems

• Experience working in a Continuous Integration/Continuous Development environment; experience with CI/CD pipelines

• Experience with developing, testing, and integrating software using C / C++ or modern software development language

• Experience with data structures, algorithms, and software design principles
• Software development lifecycle experience
• Excellent communications skills and team collaboration skills
• Self-motivated
• Proven ability and desire to facilitate career growth and knowledge transfer
• Proven ability to develop technical solutions to complex issues

• Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

• This position requires a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA , an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. The salary range for this role is 118,300 USD - 224,900 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
