What You Will Do:

The Pratt & Whitney Aftermarket Systems Engineering team is a worldwide organization hyper-focused on the needs of our commercial airline customers and driving profitability.  As P&W engines fly, data is transmitted to us and processed through our Advanced Diagnostic Engine Management (ADEM) system. We evaluate the system performance of the engine both on-wing and off-wing enabled by data science techniques to allow for efficient fleet management for the commercial aftermarket and customer support teams. Our group also develops and maintains cross-program functional tools & methods utilized by the internal P&W field / production / overhaul teams. We decrease analysis tool fragmentation and ensure revenue service analytics and learnings proliferate into earlier engine design phases.

The Aftermarket Systems Engineering team is looking for a strong Analytics Engineer to join our Analytics team with a focus on engineering enabled decision making tools and methods to optimize the business. The candidate will work alongside other groups within engineering inclusive of the Engine Design & Systems Integration and aftermarket organizations. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Development of customized tools & dashboards supporting both Aftermarket and Engineering program teams
    • Create and maintain features in a web application while adhering to coding best practices
    • Support the ongoing maturation, sustainment, and operational planning for the platform, including reliability improvements, lifecycle management, and scalability initiatives
  • Use data analytics techniques to interrogate various datasets and derive insights supporting engineering programs
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver results
  • Engage in process changes through CORE and the P&W leadership operating model

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • 8 years of engineering experience, or an Advanced degree in a related field and 5 years of related engineering experience.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Systems engineering experience and familiarity with commercial aircraft engines
  • Programming proficiency and digital tool development experience
  • Experience in agile development projects
  • Python proficiency with some object-oriented programming knowledge
  • Applied experience working with large datasets and using SQL
  • Understanding and/or eagerness to learn with respect to other engine systems including mechanical, vibration dynamics, externals, and controls.
  • Demonstrated leadership and self-direction.
  • Willingness to both teach others and learn new techniques.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

EDSI Commercial Engines Programs (CE)

Engine Design & Systems Integration (EDSI) is a dynamic Systems Engineering organization focused on development and certification of commercial, military, and industrial gas turbine engines. EDSI is responsible for overall engine system definition including thermodynamic cycle and architecture, system structural design, requirements management, air vehicle systems integration, and certification. The EDSI Propulsion Systems Analysis (PSA) organization has specific responsibility for engine performance, operability, system modeling, validation, certification, production & aftermarket support, and active fleet support.

What is my role type? In addition to transforming the future of flight, we are also transforming how and where we work. We’ve introduced role types to help you understand how you will operate in our blended work environment. This role is:

  • Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations, regardless of whether the role is designated as on-site, hybrid or remote.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
