What You Will Do *
Network & Relationships
Work with Operations and Manufacturing Engineers/Process Engineers to improve manufacturing processes and/or solve production issues.
Work with Quality Assurance for the inspection of fabricated tools.
Work with Tooling Management for in-house fabrication, assembly, and for the control and management of fabricated tools.
Work with Product Engineers for system documentation/registration of tools.
Work with Purchasing for outsourcing of tooling requirements or purchase of materials for tooling fabrication.
Work with suppliers/vendors on outsourced tooling requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Use CAD software to design innovative tools which conform to safety, solution, manufacturability, user-friendly, and cost-efficient.
Create 3D Model, 2D Drawing, Job Order, and Routing Forms for documentation of designed tools, and oversee its fabrication, qualification, and implementation.
Conversant in reading and understanding Engineering 3D Models, Drawings and GD&T.
Ensure compliance to processes related to tool design, fabrication, and control.
Technical Skills / Competencies
Strong CAD skills using CATIA V5 and NX.
Knowledgeable in Teamcenter and Microsoft Office.
Able to complete projects on time and to specification.
Able to work on own initiative and willingness to learn, and a good team player.
Work experience in conventional machining and programming CNC machine is an advantage.
Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
