What you'll be doing
As a Portfolio Manager within CIBC’s Specialty Finance Unit, you’ll play a pivotal role in managing a portfolio of diverse specialty finance clients. You’ll collaborate closely with Relationship Managers and the Diligence Team to ensure client needs are met, while actively driving new business opportunities. Your responsibilities will include direct client interactions to strengthen relationships and manage risk for the bank, as well as representing CIBC at conferences and client visits. You’ll also work across various areas of the bank, including senior management and Credit Risk Management, to support the growth and success of the Specialty Finance portfolio.
How you'll succeed
- **Portfolio Management** - Oversee a portfolio of specialty finance clients, ensuring strong performance and effective risk management.
- **Client Relationship Building** - Engage directly with clients to foster long-term relationships and deliver tailored financial solutions.
- **Business Development** - Work with Relationship Managers to identify and pursue new business opportunities within the specialty finance sector.
- **Cross-functional Collaboration** - Partner with the Diligence Team, Credit Risk Management, and senior management to support client needs and manage risk.
- **Industry Engagement** - Attend conferences and client meetings to stay current with market trends and represent CIBC’s interests.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $135,000.00- -$155,000.00 for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
