As a leader in the Unified Communications market, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Planning Product Manager to join our team and drive the evolution of our Poly Video portfolio.

Position Overview:

As a Planning Product Manager for the Poly Video portfolio, you will support the discovery, feasibility, and definition of new Unified Communications experiences. You will apply developed product management knowledge to understand customer workflows and pain points, translate insights into product requirements and recommendations, and help guide moderately complex initiatives from concept through development readiness. Working within established portfolio direction and business guidelines, you will exercise independent judgment, collaborate across functions, and facilitate fact-based decisions with internal teams, partners, and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and evaluate customer, partner, market, and competitive inputs to identify product needs, opportunities, and experience gaps.
  • Develop product recommendations, business requirements, user stories, value propositions, and prioritized feature definitions within established portfolio strategy and guidelines.
  • Coordinate discovery, feasibility, and definition activities with engineering, design, program management, product marketing, sales, support, and other stakeholders.
  • Lead moderate to high-complexity planning projects or workstreams, providing direction to team activities, validating information, and facilitating cross-functional decisions.
  • Maintain assigned elements of product roadmaps and lifecycle plans, including dependencies, assumptions, risks, and decision points.
  • Use customer feedback, product data, quality inputs, and development findings to analyze product or experience issues and communicate recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and development partners to address issues and recommend changes that improve customer experience, product quality, reliability, cost, or delivery outcomes.
  • Represent product management during relevant phases of larger and more complex development initiatives, ensuring customer and business requirements remain clear and traceable.
  • Solve difficult and complex product planning problems with a fresh perspective and sound judgment, selecting practical and creative solutions within generally defined policies and practices.
  • Produce clear, professional product documents, decision materials, requirements, and status communications that support operational and strategic plans.
  • Contribute to go-to-market readiness by supporting positioning, messaging, sales enablement, launch planning, and customer-facing activities for assigned products or capabilities.
  • Share product management practices and provide guidance to less-experienced team members when appropriate.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Developed knowledge of product management methods, new product development, product lifecycle management, product strategy, and product roadmaps.
  • Ability to translate customer and business needs into clear product requirements, user stories, priorities, and decision criteria.
  • Working knowledge of Agile and Scrum development practices and effective collaboration with hardware, software, user experience, and engineering teams.
  • Strong data analysis, structured problem-solving, and judgment when evaluating alternatives and recommending solutions.
  • Effective written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Project leadership, organization, and results orientation across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Customer centricity, learning agility, and digital fluency.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of Unified Communications and Collaboration, enterprise video systems, audio systems, APIs, software platforms, or related technologies.

Education & Experience

  • Four-year or graduate degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Product Management, or a related discipline, or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
  • Typically 4 to 7 years of relevant work experience in product management, product planning, product development, engineering, or a related field; or an advanced degree with typically 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.

Impact & Scope

  • Impacts multiple teams through product planning recommendations, requirements, and cross-functional coordination.
  • May act as a project or workstream leader, providing direction to team activities and facilitating information validation and team decision-making.
  • Works independently on assigned initiatives within established portfolio strategy, policies, and practices.
  • Escalates or seeks guidance when business issues require decisions beyond the role’s defined scope.

Complexity

  • Responds to moderately complex product and business issues within established guidelines.
  • Works on problems of diverse complexity and scope, applying developed subject matter knowledge to identify and select appropriate solutions.
  • Handles most unique situations independently and may seek advice for especially complex business decisions.
  • Balances customer, technical, schedule, cost, quality, and business considerations across cross-functional initiatives.
