People Operations | Global Mobility, Immigration, and Scale
About Ramp
Ramp is building the smart infrastructure for finance teams, embedded in the transaction flow of every dollar a business spends. We automate how over $200B in annualized spend flows in and out of 70,000+ companies: authorizing payments, flagging risk, categorizing spend, and closing books.
The problems are high-stakes, data-dense, and unforgiving.
We hire people with high agency and high urgency. We look for slope over intercept. We care less about where you trained and more about what you’ve built. At Ramp, everyone is a builder who owns problems end to end and makes consequential decisions that shape the outcome.
The median Ramp customer saves 5% and grows revenue 16% in their first year – far in excess of businesses operating without Ramp. We believe every ambitious company deserves the same.
If you want to build systems that directly shape how companies move and manage billions, Ramp is the place to do it.
About the Role
People Operations at Ramp is about creating the environment where people can do the best work of their careers. As we grow and expand globally, we're growing our People Operations Team to keep pace with the scale and complexity of our global expansion.
In this role, you'll own Ramp's immigration and global mobility function — managing the full lifecycle of visa cases, supporting employee relocations, and building the infrastructure we need employ in new countries. You’ll work with Legal, Finance, People Business Partners, Recruiters, Leaders, and more team — to navigate an evolving regulatory landscape while keeping the experience human and clear for the people going through it.
This is a hands-on role where you'll balance operational rigor with good judgment — knowing when to add structure and when to stay flexible. Above all, you'll bring genuine care for the people you support and take full ownership of the work.
What You'll Do
Immigration
Own and shape the strategy behind our immigration program — benchmarking against market practice, defining our policies and approach, and selecting and managing the vendors and counsel we rely on
Manage U.S., UK, and Canadian visa cases across the full lifecycle — from offer stage through renewals and permanent residency, in partnership with external counsel/vendors
Serve as Ramp's internal immigration expert
Advise recruiters on visa eligibility and sponsorship options as part of the hiring process
Expand immigration support to new countries as we grow
Global Mobility & Relocation
Design and manage a relocation process that feels seamless and well-supported for employees and their families
Manage end-to-end international relocation cases
Advise People Partners, recruiters, and business leaders on mobility-related questions with clear, practical guidance
Make complex immigration and mobility requirements accessible for employees navigating high-stakes processes
Expand this relocation process to new countries as we grow
Global Infrastructure & Compliance
Serve as Ramp's internal connector across Legal, Finance, Payroll, HRBPs, the business, and immigration counsel — bringing these threads together to help us stand up employment each time we enter a new country
Own compliance for all countries in which Ramp operates, including cross-border remote work, business travel, and international employment classification
Build the playbook so we're ready to go — payroll, employment law, immigration, and cultural considerations — every time we scale into a new market
Establish and adapt international business travel guidelines so employees can travel across borders for Ramp business as needed, without running into visa issues
What You Need
5-7+ years of experience across a sub-set of People Operations, global mobility, immigration, and compliance in a global context
Strong vendor management skills — you know how to get the most out of immigration counsel and relocation partners
Experience building processes from scratch at a scaling company
Autonomy and ownership: you take full accountability, follow through on commitments, and don't let things fall through the cracks
Genuine kindness and compassion: you care deeply about the people you support, especially when they're navigating high-stakes, high-stress situations
Exceptional attention to detail: you catch them before they happen
Outstanding communication skills: you can translate complex situations into plain language for employees, leaders, and their families
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks, comfort with ambiguity, and a bias toward action balanced with sound judgment on compliance risk
Nice-to-Haves
Experience standing up immigration/mobility functions in additional countries beyond the US/UK/Canada (e.g., APAC, EU, LatAm)
Prior experience at a high-growth startup navigating rapid global expansion
