Non-Kinetic Effects Modeling and Simulation Planner
The Opportunity:
As a defense mission professional, you ask questions others don't. You understand the nuances of complex military exercises and know how to integrate technical capabilities that enhance operational realism and training effectiveness. We're looking for an expert like you to develop innovative modeling and simulation solutions that strengthen Joint Force readiness and support missions that keep our nation safe.
As a Non-Kinetic Effects (NKE) Modeling and Simulation Planner, you'll bring your operational, technical, analytical, and exercise planning expertise to support United States Space Command (USSPACECOM) training, experimentation, and Tier 1 Joint exercises. You'll plan, coordinate, integrate, and synchronize modeling and simulation capabilities that enable realistic representations of non-kinetic effects, including Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (EMSO), Electronic Warfare (EW), and cyberspace operations, within complex military space operations and Joint training environments.
You'll work alongside exercise planners, operational subject matter experts, mission partners, software developers, intelligence professionals, and government stakeholders to identify exercise objectives, determine NKE modeling and simulation requirements, and integrate capabilities that realistically represent offensive and defensive non-kinetic operations. You'll serve as a trusted advisor throughout the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) by translating training objectives, operational scenarios, and threat representations into executable modeling and simulation plans supporting exercise design, planning conferences, execution, and after-action analysis.
You'll lead the planning and integration of NKE modeling and simulation capabilities to represent electromagnetic and cyberspace effects against space, ground, communications, command and control, and supporting architectures. Your work will improve exercise realism, enable tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP) refinement, support operational concept development, and strengthen the Joint Force's ability to plan, execute, and assess non-kinetic operations in contested environments.
Further your career with us as you help solve complex modeling and simulation integration challenges supporting the nation's most critical space and non-kinetic missions.
Join us. The world can't wait.
You Have:
Experience supporting Department of Defense, Combatant Command, Service Component, or Joint exercise planning activities
Experience utilizing the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) to plan, coordinate, and execute Joint military exercises or training events
Experience planning, coordinating, or integrating Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (EMSO), Electronic Warfare (EW), or cyberspace operations, or non-kinetic effects into military exercises or operational scenarios
Experience planning, coordinating, or integrating modeling and simulation capabilities into military training events, exercises, or experimentation
Knowledge of non-kinetic operations, including electromagnetic spectrum operations, electronic warfare, cyberspace operations, or their application to military space operations
Ability to translate operational and exercise objectives into NKE modeling and simulation requirements and executable technical solutions
Ability to coordinate with government stakeholders, exercise planners, operational subject matter experts, intelligence professionals, software developers, and technical teams to integrate NKE capabilities into Joint exercises
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time to support exercise planning conferences, capability integration events, technical working groups, and exercise execution
TS/SCI clearance
HS diploma or GED
Nice If You Have:
Experience supporting United States Space Command, United States Space Force, United States Cyber Command, United States Strategic Command, National Space Defense Center, Combined Space Operations Center, or other National Security Space organizations
Experience supporting Tier 1 or Joint exercises, including Initial Planning Conferences (IPC), Mid Planning Conferences (MPC), Final Planning Conferences (FPC), Master Scenario Events List (MSEL) development, exercise execution, and after-action activities
Experience developing or integrating scenarios involving electromagnetic interference, jamming, spoofing, cyber effects, communications degradation, command and control disruption, or other non-kinetic effects
Experience integrating live, virtual, and constructive (LVC) modeling and simulation capabilities into military exercises
Experience developing exercise scenarios that integrate NKE with Space Domain Awareness, Orbital Warfare, Missile Warning and Missile Defense, Command and Control, or Joint All-Domain Operations
Knowledge of modeling and simulation tools, frameworks, and environments used to represent EMSO, EW, cyber, space, or Joint operational effects
Knowledge of Systems Tool Kit (STK), Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM), Paladin, Swarm, Kronos, Python, MATLAB, C#, SQL, REST APIs, data federation architectures, or distributed modeling and simulation environments
Ability to facilitate technical working groups, capability development working groups, planning conferences, and customer engagements
Ability to develop technical documentation, exercise support plans, executive-level briefings, and concepts of operation (CONOPS)
Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Space Operations, Military Operations, or Systems Engineering
Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
