Network Engineer

How you will make an impact:
- Design and deploy IP/MPLS networks aligned with packet-optical solutions
- Configure Cisco routers and switches across IOS, IOS-XE, IOS-XR, and NX-OS platforms
- Integrate packet-optical platforms including 6500, 8700 Packetwave, and WaveLogic with IP networks
- Troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 and MPLS network issues using root cause analysis
- Implement routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and IS-IS, along with L2VPN and L3VPN technologies
- Monitor network performance, conduct capacity planning, and optimise traffic flows
- Execute network upgrades, migrations, and customer deployments in coordination with cross-functional teams
The must haves :
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, or related field
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in IP networking within service provider or telecom environments
- Certifications: Cisco certifications including CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE
- Application of TCP/IP, MPLS, QoS, and traffic engineering in network environments
- Configuration and operation of Cisco networking hardware
- Troubleshooting of network issues across Layer 2/3 and MPLS networks with root cause identification
- Utilisation of network monitoring tools and SNMP for performance visibility
Nice to haves :
- Exposure to Ciena packet-optical platforms or similar optical networking technologies
- Use of network automation tools such as Python or Ansible
- Network security implementation aligned with best practices
- Collaboration with NOC, engineering, and customer-facing teams
