Role Title: NSS Account Manager

Role Description:

The NSS Account Manager is responsible for driving business growth by identifying and securing new opportunities. Additionally, Account Managers will provide support to the Delivery Directors’ and aid contract extensions and uncover additional growth potential. 

CORE DUTIES 

Business Development and Growth 

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in adjacent markets and within existing accounts 
  • Respond to opportunities within established client panels to secure additional work 
  • Facilitate the development and submission of bids and proposals to support account growth 

Account and Client Management 

  • Establish and maintain strong client relationships to support growth initiatives 
  • Manage account opportunities, sales results, and forecasts in line with approved sales processes 
  • Conduct regular call reports and maintain accurate records of client interactions and opportunities 

Transition and Delivery Support 

  • Win work and establish new accounts, ensuring smooth transition to the delivery team for ongoing sustainment 
  • Support contract extensions to maintain and expand existing client relationships 

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience in account management, business development, or sales within relevant industries 
  • Demonstrated success in identifying and securing new business opportunities and expanding existing accounts 
  • Facilitating bids, proposals, or contract submission 
  • Strong client relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report preparation and proposal writing 
  • Ability to manage account opportunities, sales results, and forecasts in line with approved processes 
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously 
  • Results-oriented, proactive, and self-motivated 
  • High attention to detail, particularly in documentation, reporting, and bid processes 
  • Collaborative and adaptable, capable of working with internal delivery and support teams 

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience in Defence, government, public sector, or large corporate account management 
  • Exposure to adjacent market opportunities and cross-selling strategies 
  • Managing contract extensions and client panel opportunities 
  • Understanding of governance frameworks, sales processes, and commercial reporting 
  • Ability to analyse market trends and client needs to inform growth strategies 
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities 
  • Professional development or certifications in sales, account management, or business development 
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in business, commerce, or a related discipline 

Required Security Clearance Level: NV1

Location: Canberra with Hybrid Optional

Weekly Hours: 40
