Northrop Grumman Defense Systems’ Command & Control and Weapons Integration (CWI) Division has an immediate opening within its Global Command and Control Solutions (GC2S) Business Unit for a highly qualified and energetic leader to fill the role of Mission Assurance Manager 3. The position is based in Huntsville, AL and will report directly to the CWI Division Director of Mission Assurance but with dotted-line reporting to the GC2S BU Vice President. 

This position is a key leadership role within the GC2S BU and is responsible for driving overall Quality and Mission Assurance performance across a portfolio of programs delivering both hardware and software product solutions to an array of customers. The selected leader will regularly interface with a host of stakeholders including OU Directors, Program Managers, Functional Leaders and customer and DCMA representatives.

The successful candidate will possess unwavering ethics and values, effective leadership and communication skills, and the ability to develop and maintain trusting partnerships with internal and external stakeholders along with a strong background in quality principles, continuous improvement concepts, an ability to transform data into meaningful information for purposes of identifying trends and driving corrective, preventative and improvement actions to closure.    
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and utilize measurable goals and effectiveness criteria to ensure solid quality performance and execution.
• Define, develop and execute strategic objectives with little oversight, while working in a collaborative, multi-function team environment.
• Develop, maintain, and ensure compliance with mission assurance policies, processes, procedures and that the performance and quality of products/processes conform to established standards, specifications and contractual requirements.
• Solving complex technical and process issues through systematic and disciplined analysis. Ability to analyze alternative courses of action and make decisions
• Ensure rapid problem identification, robust, effective and timely Root Cause and Corrective Action implementation
• Planning and managing staffing plans and budget. Developing junior personnel for career growth opportunities
• Provide leadership that fosters an inclusive, motivated and engaged work culture.
• Ensure clear RACI alignment across the entire BU Quality organization

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree and at least 9 years, or a Masters degree and 7 years, of relevant experience in Aircraft, Aerospace, Defense, Automotive, Manufacturing or Military in a Quality environment
• 7 years of experience in a management/leadership role
• Experience with Root Cause and Corrective Action Analysis, Risk Management, Quality Management Systems (AS9100), and DoD contracting activities.
• Familiarity with APQP (AS9145); First Article Inspection (FAI) procedures (AS9102) and AS6500
• Strong communication skills, forward thinking, adaptability, ability to drive process improvements and decisive decision-making ability
• US Citizenship; ability to earn and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
• Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in an engineering, technical, business or related discipline
• Strong orientation to change in a dynamic environment
• Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt training or certification
• Familiarity with FAR/DFAR quality requirements
• AS9100 Auditor training or certification
• Familiarity with SAP including Quality Transactions
• Understanding of Northrop Grumman’s Business Acquisition Process (BAP)
• Familiarity w Northrop Grumman’s IPRS and QAF toolsets

Primary Level Salary Range: $167,500.00 - $251,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
