Military Fellowship Program: Test Technician
NOTE: You must be currently serving on active duty to be eligible for this fellowship program. Responsibilities:
- Execute complex testing scenarios.
- Perform detailed analysis and reporting.
- Troubleshoot and resolve advanced issues.
- Improve test procedures based on findings.
- Mentor junior technicians.
- Assist in the development of new testing protocols.
- Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of testing equipment.
- Document and report anomalies or deviations during testing.
- Participate in cross-functional team meetings to discuss test outcomes.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Currently serving as ACTIVE duty military and be eligible to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program
- Associate's degree in a related field of study.
- 1+ years' experience as a technician or in a related field.
- Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 3 years of related experience is required.
- Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
- Basic understanding of technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications.
- Basic understanding of test concepts and techniques.
- General experience with standard laboratory test, calibration, and other measurement equipment.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Associate's degree with a focus on Electronics.
- Familiarity with MIL Standard 810 Test Standards.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.
- Certification in Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing.
Essential Functions:
- Perform testing processes on equipment, including the ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly.
- Conduct fault isolation and troubleshooting, requiring hand/finger dexterity.
- Analyze and document test results, spending significant time on computers.
- Work in potentially hazardous or loud environments, following safety protocols.
- Ability to travel may be required.
- For office roles, capability to work in an office or hybrid environment.
