MILCON Program Engineer

Booz Allen Hamilton
Arlington, VA Remote Mid Level Full-time
MILCON Program Engineer

The Opportunity:

As a facilities and engineering professional, you understand that Military Construction (MILCON) processes require the execution of a disciplined process, technical review of proposed projects, detailed facilities data analysis, and close coordination across planning and engineering stakeholders at all levels of the organization. We need an experienced facilities project engineer and subject matter expert (SME) who can apply engineering judgment, analytical rigor, and multidiscipline insight to support the client with MILCON engineering analysis, documentation, and requirements development.

On our team, you’ll support engineering assessments by reviewing MILCON and Unspecified Minor Military Construction (UMMC) requirements, validating engineering assumptions, and preparing structured documentation that informs project scoping and prioritization. You’ll help evaluate facility condition information, review multidiscipline engineering inputs and support the development of pre‑decisional MILCON documentation packages. You’ll work alongside headquarters, regional commands, Public Works, and installation planning and engineering teams to ensure technical inputs remain accurate, compliant with required standards and codes such as the Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) and International Building Codes (IBC) and aligned with installation mission requirements.

Your engineering expertise, careful analysis, and ability to synthesize technical engineering data will help the client deliver technically sound MILCON and UMMC solutions that strengthen installation readiness.

Join us. The world can’t wait.

You Have:

  • Knowledge of facility engineering principles, building system performance, or installation sustainment practices

  • Ability to interpret engineering inputs, technical reports and drawings, field conditions, or planning information and incorporate them into structured summaries for leadership review

  • Ability to coordinate with stakeholders to support gathering and tracking of schedule, requirements, facility lifecycle workflows, or technical review preparation

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Facilities Management, or Construction Management and 4+ years of experience supporting facilities engineering, facility lifecycle workflows, infrastructure analysis, or engineering support activities, or Master’s degree and 2+ years of experience supporting facilities engineering, facility lifecycle workflows, infrastructure analysis, or engineering support activities

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience contributing to engineering inputs supporting facilities sustainment, restoration or modernization activities

  • Experience preparing early programming artifacts such as DD1391s or Congressional Notifications or supporting resource prioritization activities, including POM Issue Papers or Project Justification Packages

  • Experience using iNFADS, FI Web, PAX, AMS, PBIS, or DAI for facility visibility, repair prioritization, or planning integration

  • Experience with PPBE programming materials, POM inputs, PBIS/DAI financial summaries, or PAX/AMS project artifacts

  • Knowledge of UFC criteria, IBCs, facility design standards and requirements, or engineering review workflows

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Facilities Management, Construction Management, or a related field

  • Professional Certifications such as PE, RA, PMP, or CFM Certification
