Raytheon has an opportunity to join the Metrology / Test Equipment Maintenance (MTEM) team.  This position has overall leadership of the MTEM Labs (Electrical and Gage); a fast paced, multi-shift, high volume environment that manages and calibrates over 30,000 assets across the Sensor portfolio. As the Metrology Lab Value Stream Manager your responsibilities will include full leadership, management, and accountability for safety, quality, schedule, and cost performance of a multi-cell/multi-shift Metrology lab operation. The Value Stream Manager will be responsible for setting the standard and driving operational excellence throughout the organization. This position requires an independent, self-motivated leader, that can drive the organization to meet goals and objectives consistently.

This role requires daily interaction with cross-business teams to maintain and meet organizational goals and objectives. These groups include manufacturing/test/design engineering, maintenance, production control, finance and various program management offices.  Achieving/exceeding safety, quality, delivery, and implementing continuous improvement opportunities using CORE, six sigma and lean methodologies are critical performance criteria for this position.

What You Will Do

  • Execute to deliver Calibration commitments.

  • Support deployment of manufacturing operations strategy, control systems, tools and metrics to accurately measure progress and drive continuous improvement in a safe environment.

  • Support Workforce forecasting and planning, staffing budget oversight, Area layout, Unit hour performance and flow management.

  • Capital identification and control of overhead expenses.

  • Ensure full compliance of company policies and procedures.


Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and a minimum 8 years of prior relevant experience. 

  • Experience leading a team in repair/calibration test measurement or diagnostic equipment.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.


Qualifications We Prefer

  • Management skills including the ability to make decisions with minimal supervision, goal setting, delegation, coaching, and motivating.

  • Experience working with Vendors and service contracts. 

  • Ability to use and apply mechanical and electrical schematics, drawings, and diagnostic tools to isolate and repair test equipment and station faults

  • Familiarity with IndySoft calibration management software

  • Experience with ISO 17025 and ANSI Z540 metrology standards

  • Experience using common troubleshooting tools such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, counters, signal generators

  • Prior supervisory experience with represented (union) employees

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
