In this position, you will join our Manufacturing Operations Organization within our Aeronautics Systems sector as a Manufacturing Technician 3 supporting our Iuka, MS site. We’re seeking a hands-on professional with exceptional attention to detail, a strong commitment to quality, and outstanding interpersonal skills.
This position may be filled at varying shift times including weekdays, nights, and weekends (shift differential paid during eligible shifts).
A shift - Mon-Thurs 7am-5:30pm
B Shift - Mon-Thurs 5:30pm-4am
C Shift - Fri-Sun 7am-7:30pm
D Shift - Fri-Sun 7pm-7:30am
Essential Functions:
Read and understand blueprints
Translate blueprints into fabrications of structural assemblies to include precision drilling, countersinking, and the use of calibrated tools
Aligning parts on jigs using templates and fixtures
Performing part-fitting operations: filing sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming
Measures parts with precision tools such as micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions
May modify incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate changes to structure and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedure
Daily usage of manufacturing shop controls and systems
Use of appropriate PPE when working on the shop floor
Recommend and implement continuous improvement activities in production methods, equipment performance, and team effectiveness
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED with at least 6 years of experience in hydraulic parts, assemblies, components, or systems in an aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing and/or maintenance environment
This position requires the ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying tools, lifting up to 35 pounds, working overhead or at heights, and accessing small, confined spaces
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret level clearance and Special Program Access within a reasonable period, as defined by the company to meet its business needs. U.S. Citizenship required for clearance.
Must successfully complete and pass the “ASTAR New Hire Training / Compliance” within a reasonable time period, as defined by the company to meet its business need
Must have the ability to work any shift
Preferred Qualifications:
Current/active U.S. Government Secret level clearance
Experience in aerospace manufacturing
Demonstrated ability using standard measuring equipment and power hand tools (Drills, grinders, sanders, cutting wheels, saws, tape measures, scales, micrometers, dial calipers, etc.)
Ability to read and understand blueprints, technical specifications and operating procedures
Experience working to electronic or written instructions
Ability to read engineering drawings
