None/Not RequiredCollins Aerospace is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II to support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes that drive operational excellence. As a Manufacturing Engineer II, you will apply engineering principles to improve manufacturing operations, lead engineering projects from concept through deployment, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative production solutions. You'll play a key role in advancing Industry 4.0 initiatives, supporting manufacturing readiness, and driving process improvements that enhance quality, efficiency, and productivity. This is an individual contributor position.

This onsite position is based at our Santa Isabel, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.
What You Will Do:
- Apply engineering principles and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve manufacturing operations and production efficiency.
- Perform failure analysis on electromechanical parts.
- Monitor, diagnose, and resolve unit failures during electromechanical component manufacturing, ensuring timely corrective actions and driving continuous improvement to reduce defect rates and enhance process reliability.
- Plan, prioritize, and manage multiple engineering projects while meeting project milestones and business objectives.
- Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams to successfully transition projects into production.
- Analyze manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement in safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
- Support the implementation of Industry 4.0 technologies and develop proposals for automation and digital manufacturing initiatives.
- Communicate project status, technical recommendations, and implementation plans with operations and engineering leadership.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing operations by troubleshooting production issues and implementing sustainable corrective actions.
- Assist in developing and improving manufacturing methods, tooling, equipment, and process documentation.
- Design and development of manufacturing tooling using additive manufacturing, milling or outsourcing the manufacture of tooling.
- Ensure engineering projects comply with safety, quality, regulatory, and company requirements.
- Support Customer Returns by investigating failure modes and providing corrective actions.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
- Demonstrated professional or educational experience communicating in English and Spanish (verbal and written).
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience supporting manufacturing operations within an aerospace or advanced manufacturing environment.
- Experience leading or coordinating engineering projects from planning through implementation.
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering and operations teams.
- Knowledge of Industry 4.0 technologies, automation, or smart manufacturing concepts.
- Experience with low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with welding, brazing, or other metal joining processes.
- Programming or industrial automation experience.
