The Navigation, Intelligence, and Connectivity Division (NIC) Supplier Performance Management Team is looking for a Supplier Quality Manager (M2) for the Navigation and Cockpit Systems Business Unit (NACS), reporting to the NIC Division Manager.  This position is full time onsite and can be based out of our Woodland Hills, CA or Salt Lake City. UT office. This position is instrumental in driving the supply base to provide consistently high-quality parts on schedule to support our internal and external customers.

What You Will Get To Do:

The qualified individual will lead a group of highly talented quality engineers across multiple sites, and can be located at Woodland Hills, CA or Salt Lake City, UT.

 

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Identifies and executes the strategy to drive continuous improvement for supplier performance

  • Actively engages in supplier evaluation, qualification, and selection as part of the Business Acquisition Process (BAP)

  • Manages implementation of supplier quality processes including; Approved Supplier List inclusion (ASL), source selection, segmentation, development and execution of risk assessments and mitigation plans, and contractual quality assurance flow-downs.

  • Develops the supplier quality workforce though continued education providing opportunities for professional growth

  •  Fosters a collaborative culture for employee engagement and best practice sharing

  • Assigns goals to direct reports connecting their efforts to those of the division and enterprise

  • Influences leadership development with the focus on succession planning

  • Aligns staffing to program budgets through oversight of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and Basis of Estimate (BOE)

  • Contributes to site Preventive Corrective Action Boards (PCABs), program reviews, and customer meetings as the supplier quality leadership representative.

Qualifications:

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering (Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, etc.) and 8+ years of relevant experience; quality, engineering, manufacturing or a Masters Degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.

  • Experience leading teams and/or projects

  • Experience with program/product lifecycle in the areas of supply chain management, receiving operations, inventory control, production control, product test & evaluation, product sell off, shipping and product support

  • Familiarity with Earned Value, labor estimating, and proposals

  • Experience developing Return to Green (RTG)plans

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001/AS9100 Quality Management System certification process

  • Must be a U.S. citizen with an active Secret Security clearance

  • Ability to travels to suppliers, up to 10%

  • Active Secret level security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAP Business System experience

  • Master’s degree for quality, engineering, or management

  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification

  • American Society for Quality Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Manager (CMQ OE)

Primary Level Salary Range: $126,600.00 - $219,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
