Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) has an opening for Manager Programs 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Program Management organization. This leadership role is an onsite opportunity located in San Diego, CA. We are looking for self-motivated, proactive, and goal-oriented people to help us grow our services and become even better at what we do.

The Program Manager 3 will be responsible for managing a program within the F-35 CNI Production and Sustainment portfolio and support the program through execution, completion (contract closeout), and production. This individual will lead a cross-functional team aligned to common program performance goals. The primary objective will be the delivery of all contractual requirements on cost and on schedule, while achieving all technical requirements and creating customer intimacy to support value creation strategies and actions.

The selected candidate must have the ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time.

What You’ll Get To Do:

Primary responsibilities are included but not limited to:

  • Managing cost, schedule, and technical performance of portfolio subset

  • Cultivate customer relationships and intimacy to develop future opportunities within the customer community

  • Leading cross-function team to meet program cost, schedule and technical performance objectives

  • Managing suppliers to meet program and customer objectives

  • Measuring and reporting program performance

  • Conduct risk, issue and opportunity management practices including identification, mitigation and realization

  • Drive common process improvements within scope of business to improve supplier and program performance

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of related professional/military experience, or a Master’s degree and 6 years of related professional/military experience that includes a background in project/program management. An additional 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree. 

  • Demonstrated experience supporting manufacturing, productions, field repair, depot operations, sustainment or product lifecycle management within a technical hardware environment. 

  • Demonstrated excellence in managing challenging customer relationships during development or NRE project execution.

  • Demonstrated success in leading the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost and achieving all requirements as either project lead, integrated program team or cost account manager.

  • Experience utilizing earned value management system (EVMS)

  • Demonstrated effective use of Risk and Opportunity Management on project/program.

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions.

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, MS Project, and PowerPoint.

  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 10% of the time as required by business needs.

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance is required to start.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience serving as a Cost Account Manager (CAM)with responsibility for cost, schedule, and performance, and/or experience with profit and loss (P&L) accountability.

  • Experience leading programs and projects supporting multiple customers, contracts, and/or product lines concurrently. 

  • Experience with Communications and Networking systems, products, or related technologies.

  • Experience with capture, proposal or business development activities supporting DoD, commercial, and/or government customers. 

  • Project Management Professional (PMP), CAM, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent relevant certification. 

  • Experience working with U.S. DoD acquisition organizations, military services, and/or government customers.

  • Knowledge of Northrop Grumman processes, procedures, tools, and organizational structure.

  • Experience supporting international programs, customers, suppliers, or field operations.

Primary Level Salary Range: $193,000.00 - $289,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
