Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Manager Program Planning 2 to join our diverse team of professionals. This leadership position will be full time in the office and located in Palmdale, CA.
This role will support the day to day sustainment needs, balancing maintenance and supply requirements, customer desires and personnel availability to accomplish the job. This role will be responsible for coordinating the priorities between multiple Technical Integration teams, ensuring the right need at the right place at the right time. The Technical Integration team consists of project integrators to ensure the Program as a whole is aligned and executing tasks in a timely manner in support of Program schedule and goals. The team also includes specialty technical integrators that manage high-complexity and/or high-risk subsystems as determined by the Program Managers.

This role is combination of functional leadership and the execution of technical statement of work.

Roles and Responsibilities will include:

  • Serve as the technical integration authority on Product Support tasking for multiple program organizations

  • Provide technical leadership, direction, and mentoring to team members

  • Coordinate with other integration leaders across the program to ensure sharing and alignment of best practices

  • Maintain cognizance of shifting industry best practices, procedures, and USG guidance documents to generate opportunities and influence SOWs and ensure Northrop Grumman is a leader in the fields of project management and technical integration

  • Coordinate with other Engineering, Global Supply Chain, Program/Project Management, and other functions as needed to ensure the teams generate high quality and technically sound analyses on schedule for task completion

  • Formally present technical status, solutions, risks, and opportunities to leadership and the customer

  • Act as the CAM for technical integration team work packages as needed

  • Support and shape proposal activities

The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility.  There is no remote / hybrid / telework available for this position.  Travel up to 25% may be required.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 9 years of related experience; OR a Master’s degree 7 years of related experience 

  • Active US Government Top Secret clearance (with a background investigation within the past 5 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).

  • Ability to obtain and maintain initial Special Access Program (SAP) access via a Program Access Request (PAR).  This SAP/PAR must be obtained prior to commencement of employment and must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 9 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 7 years of related engineering experience 

  • SCI eligible and current applicable Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.           

  • Previous experience working with Contracts, Program Management, Risk Issue Opportunities management, and/or government acquisition lifecycle

  • Relevant experience in adjacent logistics support elements such as Logistics Support Analysis (LSA) & Maintenance Planning, Modeling & Simulation (ModSim), Support Equipment Engineering (SEE), Prognostics & Health Management (PHM), Supportable Low Observables (SLO), Obsolescence Management, Training & Training Systems, Technical Data, Support Hardware, Fleet & Field Support, and Product Support Management

  • Previous experience driving process changes/improvements and leading multi-functional teams on complex tasks, with strong communication and presentation skills

  • Demonstrated financial management skills including development and control of program budgets, schedules, Estimate at Complete (EAC), and the ability to recognize and capture program changes

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, MS Project, and PowerPoint

  • Previous U.S. Military experience with operations and/or aircraft maintenance background

Primary Level Salary Range: $146,600.00 - $219,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
