Capitalone
McLean, VA Manager Full-time
Manager, Product Management (Forecasting)

Capital One’s Finance Product & Data Solutions (FPDS) team is the central product organization within Finance, responsible for defining strategy, prioritizing outcomes, and ensuring the delivery of scalable, resilient platforms and data capabilities. We bring the Product discipline to complex Finance ecosystems, aligning business needs, technology execution, risk mitigation, and data governance to enable trusted reporting, informed decision-making, and long-term modernization.

The Forecasting Product team is a high impact team within FPDS, entrusted with managing the products & platforms that our CFO teams use to evaluate our businesses’ historical financial performance, provide forecasts of future financial performance, and advise LOB leadership the regulatory implications of strategic decisions.

This role sits at the intersection of Finance, Data, Risk and Technology. You will own products that enable analytical rigor, scalability, and trust in our financial systems — ensuring they are transparent, well-governed, and fit for strategic use. Your work will directly influence the next generation of corporate planning tooling and influence how the firm plans conducts forecasting.

Responsibilities:

  • Embed with partners and stakeholders across Financial Management, Software Capitalization and Data Analytics to understand user & end customer pain points and desired outcomes from forecasting tools

  • Partner closely with users & end customers, including Regulatory, FP&A, Controllers, and Analyst teams, to translate business requirements that enable forecast development and analysis, testing, and operations

  • Partner closely with counterparts across Technology, Data, and Business stakeholder teams, while working closely with peer teams in Research, Design, Architecture, and other groups, to develop & iterate on proposed solutions for high priority needs

  • Drive alignment across stakeholders by prioritizing competing initiatives, sequencing development of capabilities and features, and ensuring end-to-end delivery

  • Establish success metrics and feedback loops to assess customer usability, adoption, and solutions impact, continuously iterating based on user and stakeholder feedback

This role is ideal for a Product Manager who thrives on ambiguity, enjoys solving hard structural problems, and can balance near-term delivery with long-term platform evolution.

You will be expected to operate as a trusted partner to Finance leaders — not just gathering requirements, but helping shape the “why,” “what,” and “how” behind the analysis that matter most.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining one of the following with an expectation that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date:

    • A Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field), Business or Marketing

OR

  • Bachelor's degree in any field and at least 3 years of Product Management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience translating business strategy and analysis into consumer facing digital products

  • Background or hands-on experience supporting regulatory reporting, model development, analytics, or quantitative workflows, such as scenario analysis, stress testing, or forecasting.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate business partners’ needs into clear product strategy, defining target outcomes & operating models, success metrics, and proposed roadmaps / prioritized backlogs for business, engineering and data partner teams

  • Comfortable navigating regulatory requirements and third-party systems limitations while still driving step-function modernization & improvements to user outcomes

  • Enjoys working in a dynamic, fast-paced, and high-prerforming team and learning environment while maintaining a high level of analytical rigor and attention to detail

  • Strong ownership mindset with ability to both drive work independently and through/with others

  • Ability to influence multiple senior stakeholders with competing priorities, synthesize diverse viewpoints, and drive alignment without direct authority

  • Clear, confident communicator who can explain complex analytical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
