Northrop Grumman Mission Systems' sector is seeking a Manager Material Requirements Planning 1 to join our team in the Buffalo, NY office. In the Mission Systems' sector, you will join our experts in developing systems and solutions that keep our world safe. The qualified applicant will work in our Buffalo, New York office, where we focus on the development and production of state-of-the-art Simulation Systems solutions.
What You Will Get To Do:
The Manager, Material Requirements Planning 1 directs daily MRP activities that support assembly demand, component replenishment, engineering changes, while being on hands with MRP tasks. Leading a team of planners and manufacturing expeditors, the incumbent resolves schedule and material conflicts, authorizes requisitions, and initiates production orders while safeguarding cost, schedule, and bills of material. This role is fully on-site and requires the incumbent to be present on the manufacturing floor daily to support production activities and resolve real-time material issues.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing, coaching, and leading a team of 5 direct reports
Analyzing manufacturing, ERP, and other material‑requirement data to meet assembly demands, component replenishment, substitute parts, production set‑ups, and engineering changes.
Generating part and material requirements and creating associated purchase requisitions or production orders.
Planning, preparing, issuing, and controlling production schedules; coordinating material flows to ensure approved materials arrive on time to meet production requirements.
Advising management on work‑in‑progress status, material availability, and potential production issues to guarantee that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed.
Confirming material supply and demand and preparing work orders or purchase requests based on the master production schedule, shop load, and inventory requirements.
Coordinating interdepartmental activities with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, and other functions; expediting part movement through move orders, stock transfers, and shipping requests.
Through proactive problem‑solving and cross‑functional collaboration, the Manager ensures a controlled, timely flow of materials and resources that supports seamless production execution.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Industrial Engineering with (5) years’ related material requirements planning experience; (2) years with Masters; or (9) years’ applicable experience will be considered in- lieu of degree
Related experience must be in material requirements planning, supply chain management, and material management.
Experience leading a team
Experience with ERP/MRP software (SAP)
Experience using MS Office Suite, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
The ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret clearance is required.
Preferred Skills:
2 years managing direct reports
Must have demonstrated analytical skills required for determining priorities, lead times, and shop floor schedules
Working knowledge of Mission PLM
APICS CPIM/CSCP certification
Broad Understanding of ERP systems
Advanced use of Microsoft excel
Experience with Tableau, Power BI, Sharepoint

Primary Level Salary Range: $90,900.00 - $136,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
