Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Sector is seeking an experienced E2D aircraft all systems technical professional to lead & manage a team of field support representatives (FSRs). This team includes up to 10 FSRs in the everyday technical assistance and troubleshooting of the E-2D aircraft in the flight test and maintenance operations at NAS Patuxent River, MD.

Job Description:

The Flight Operations Manager will be responsible for the (personnel management) daily planning, scheduling, operations & direction of NGC, FSR employees assigned to the location. The right candidate will actively assist or provide direction to the FSR team in the technical support and troubleshooting of the E2D aircraft in the everyday ground/flight test operations. Responsible for accurate and effective reporting aircraft status to other NGC entities.  Ensures maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical assistance activities are conducted in accordance with established policies and procedures. Follows & assists in any ground operating procedures audits, inspections, and/or compliance reviews IAW DCMA 8210 series. Provides feedback to NGC leadership and FSR team members during daily maintenance pass downs, shift turnover or meetings.

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Will participate in schedule and technical discussions/meetings.
  • Must have all systems technical knowledge associated E2D aircraft subsystems.
  • Will interface regularly with all competencies within the ITT, US Navy, and E2D contractor maintenance.
  • Assists with audits, program inspections, suggests appropriate corrective actions/adjustments to maintain contract compliance/performance.
  • Direct assignment and functional management of employees to include schedules, training, and provide overall feedback via annual/quarterly performance ratings & reviews.
  • Will recommend technical procedure changes to improve maintainability of aircraft and timely inspections.
  • Available to work First or Second shift and weekends as needed in support of flight/ground test operations.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelors degree and 5 years of related experience or a Masters degree and 3 years of related experience or a High School diploma and 9 years of related professional experience. 
  • Must have a minimum of 6 years of E2D aircraft maintenance experience
  • Must have an active DoD Secret clearance upon start.
  • Must have strong communication skills/delivery methods, ppt, excel, word, Microsoft/teams.
  • Comfortable/confident working in a flightline operations environment.
  • Willingness and Ability to obtain TS/SCI post start as required.
  • Technical Knowledge of all E2D aircraft systems. 

Preferred Qualifications:

•             US Navy E2D aircraft maintenance management experience.

•             Understanding of E-2D Aircraft maintenance, troubleshooting, ground handling, launch/recovery, Safe for Flight requirements.

•             Working knowledge of NAVY/NAVAIR/NAMP/OPNAVINST 4790.2, OOMA, DCMA 8210 series.

•             Current TS clearance.

Primary Level Salary Range: $110,000.00 - $165,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
