Amentum is seeking a Lead Work Control Center Clerk to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. This role will serve as the lead clerk for the Work Control Center, overseeing daily workflow, task assignments, and administrative operations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Receive, review, and process work requests, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and proper coding in accordance with Navy and Amentum standards.
  • Prioritize and route maintenance tasks to appropriate shops or departments based on urgency, scope, and resource availability.
  • Monitor work order status, track progress, and ensure timely updates within the maintenance management system.
  • Maintain logs, reports, and documentation related to work orders, labor hours, materials, and equipment usage.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, technicians, and leadership to resolve discrepancies, clarify requirements, and support operational planning.
  • Provide training, guidance, and quality checks for Work Control Center clerks and administrative staff.
  • Support scheduling, preventive maintenance planning, and workload forecasting.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, security, and environmental procedures related to work control operations.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in maintenance administration, work control, facilities support, or related administrative roles.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in maintenance management, administration, or logistics preferred.
  • Must possess a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
  • Passport must be valid for at least one year beyond hire date.
  • Ability to obtain country-specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
  • Ability to meet and maintain contract medical requirements for the duration of deployment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
  • Must read, speak, and comprehend English to the extent that they can perform the contract requirements and comply with installation emergency procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi‑national workforce.
  • Experience with CMMS or maintenance management systems such as Maximo, IWIMS, or similar platforms.
  • Strong organizational, communication, documentation and leadership skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Working Environment

This position is located on Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), a remote overseas location supporting U.S. Government operations. Employees may work in office, industrial, warehouse, port, airfield, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to high temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements.

Physical Requirements

 Requirements may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments. Must be able to meet all medical, security, and deployment requirements associated with assignment to a remote overseas location.
