Job Overview
We are looking for a Lead Engineer – Software to join our engineering team in Bangalore or Hyderabad. In this role, you will design, develop, integrate, and verify middleware, core software libraries, and platform-level software for safety-critical aerospace applications.
You will work in a collaborative Agile environment alongside talented engineers to build high-quality embedded software that meets the highest aerospace safety and certification standards. What You Will Do
- Design and develop middleware, core software libraries, and platform software compliant with DO-178B/C standards.
- Analyze, define, and develop clear, complete, and verifiable high-level and low-level software requirements.
- Develop software architecture, detailed designs, and embedded software components using object-oriented and object-based design principles.
- Implement, integrate, debug, and verify embedded software primarily using C++.
- Develop, review, and execute software test cases, test procedures, and automated test scripts.
- Support software verification, validation, certification activities, and lifecycle documentation.
- Participate in technical design reviews, peer reviews, and software quality assessments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex software design, integration, and performance issues.
- Contribute to Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Deployment (CD), and DevOps practices.
- Communicate technical progress, risks, and recommendations with project stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality software solutions on schedule.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Electrical Engineering, Avionics, or another relevant STEM discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in embedded software development within aerospace or other safety-critical domains.
- Strong programming skills in C/C++ (C++ preferred).
- Experience designing and developing embedded software, middleware, software libraries, or platform-level components.
- Hands-on experience with DO-178B/C software development and certification activities.
- Experience in software architecture, design, coding, integration, debugging, and verification.
- Experience creating software requirements, test cases, and verification procedures.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in Agile and cross-functional engineering teams.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience with VxWorks or other Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
- Knowledge of Flight Management Systems (FMS), avionics software, aircraft applications, or aerospace platform software.
- Understanding of DO-178B/C Design Assurance Level A (DAL A).
- Experience with configuration management and development tools such as Git, Subversion, and JIRA.
- Familiarity with DevOps, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Deployment pipelines.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented software design and software engineering best practices.
- Demonstrated ownership, attention to quality, and commitment to process compliance.
