Position: GTS-MCAD-Lead Engineer (P2) – Mechanical Engineer

Must have Skillsets: Engineering Change management process, Good Mechanical Technical knowledge and communication skills,  Stakeholder Communication, Documentation, Project Planning and Risk Management, Catia V5.

Good to have: Manufacturing process knowledge, GD and T, Teamcenter, experience on working in electromechanical parts.


Primary Responsibilities:

Provide technical support to Aerospace product manufacturing team from eng team.
Providing valuable support to address technical inquiries and prevent production disruptions.
Offering solutions to address manufacturing non-conformities at both the detailed part and assembly levels.
Engaging in effective communication with suppliers and customers to clarify Engineering Query Notes (EQN) and respond to Supplier Requests (SR).
Participate in Engineering Change Management Process
Experience on CI – Lean/6 sigma/Root Cause Analysis.
Ability to read, understand and create technical drawings, sketches.
Tools/fixtures design and fabrication.
Demonstrating knowledge on engineering drawings, assembly specifications, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Playing a pivotal role in the creation of essential technical documents, including Work instructions (WI), Visual Instructions (VI).
Collaborating in the Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) process, participating in risk assessment and mitigation, and contributing to Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) activities alongside cross-functional teams (CFT).
Working knowledge on CAD applications – Solidworks or Catia
Understanding of mechanical systems, components, and their life cycles – Lighting Systems
Participates in Engineering Change Management Process thru Teamcenter.
Developing and implementing plans to address obsolescence issues in a timely manner.
Applying critical thinking skills to assess and address obsolescence challenges effectively.
Ability to read, understand and create technical drawings, sketches.
Develops data and makes parametric models and notes for design proposals.
Investigates pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replaceability, strength-weight efficiency, and contractual specification requirements, regulatory requirements, and cost.
Document best practices and fosters cross-departmental collaboration.
Contribute to Continuous Improvement – Lean and/or 6 sigma.
Proficiency Microsoft office – Word, Excel, and Presentation 
Communicates with business units in USA and Germany (effective written and verbal communication is required for the purpose of achieving successful job performance)
Team Player and Interpersonal skill to work with cross functional team.
Attention to details to ensure high quality work to customers.
Basic Qualifications:

5 to 8 years of Industry experience with exposure to product manufacturing, New Product Development, Redesign and CAD Activities
Bachelor's/master’s degree in mechanical engineering/mechanical design/Aeronautical Engineering

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). If you live within a reasonable commute of an RTX site with other colleagues you interact with, your manager will discuss whether there is a degree of onsite presence associated with this role.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

Requires theoretical to advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through University Degree combined with experience. Practical knowledge of RTX projects, programs
or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.

Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience.

Engineering/Other Technical Positions:Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics(STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
