Job Description:

   

An Installation and Deployment manager oversee field-based technical teams and manages the rollouts of systems, software, or hardware. They balance the technical execution of installations with people management, ensuring that teams are fully resourced, trained, and structurally aligned with business goals. 

The ideal candidate is a confident change leader who translates strategic transformation into team-level action, with proven ability to drive adoption of evolving roles, responsibilities, processes, and tools. They combine strong coaching, real-time feedback, and performance management skills with the operational fluency to enable their team through change. Comfortable leveraging AI-enabled tools and digital platforms, they model technology adoption naturally and build a high-performance culture where accountability, continuous improvement, and results orientation are the norm.

The candidate must own team metrics with a sharp focus on speed, predictability, and consistency, using both quantitative data and qualitative insight to identify and close performance gaps decisively. They are a credible stakeholder manager who connects every team member's daily activities to tangible customer outcomes — creating a clear line of sight between individual work and customer value — and leads the team to prioritize and accelerate those outcomes. A skills-based mindset, deploying talent based on capabilities rather than rigid role boundaries, is essential, as are data literacy, transparent communication, resilience under ambiguity, and an unwavering commitment to developing future-ready talent.

The Mission

As an Installation and Deployment People Leader, you are responsible for guiding a team of deployment engineers, field technicians, and project specialists. You will bridge the gap between technical operations and human resources, driving team capability, professional development, and seamless, on-time installation operations. 
Key Responsibilities

1. People Leadership & Talent Development
• Manage and Mentor: Lead a diverse team of deployment and installation professionals, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Performance & Development: Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and career planning sessions. 
• Training & Upskilling: Identify skill gaps within the team and develop training programs for optimum flexibility and adaptability to new technologies.

2. Deployment Strategy & Operations
• Project Oversight: Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of concurrent deployment and installation projects.
• Resource Allocation: Strategically allocate staff based on skillset, availability, and project requirements.
• Risk & Quality Management: Ensure all daily pre- and post-deployment activities (costings, risk assessments, and method statements) are completed safely and in line with QA/QC procedures. 

3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Stakeholder Alignment: Collaborate with engineering, sales, and IT/transformation teams to align objectives and remove roadblocks.
• Change Management: Facilitate a smooth transition of technology/product rollouts by managing the human element of operational change.
• Communication: Maintain transparent reporting on team capacity, project milestones, and deployment risks for senior leadership. 

Essential Requirements
• Experience: 5+ years in a leadership or managerial capacity overseeing technical, field service, or deployment teams.
• Leadership Skills: Proven track record in mentoring teams, talent development, and cultivating a high-performance, inclusive culture.
• Project Management: Strong grasp of deployment lifecycles, risk management, and resource planning, PMI certified, Lean Six Sigma certified.
• Soft Skills: Sense of urgency, Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Compliance & Safety: Solid understanding of health and safety protocols, as well as relevant industry compliance and QA/QC standards.

Job Family Definition:

Responsible for the overall management of a service segment of significant scope and complexity at the country, region or worldwide level. Includes but is not limited to development, implementation and governance of product service or solution portfolio lifecycle management, revenue growth programs through the appropriate routes to market. Includes but is not limited to achieving revenue, profit and/or TCE goals for that segment/entity.

Management Level Definition:

Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to manage staff activities in solving common and complex business/technical issues within established policies. Manages exempt individual contributors and/or supervisors. Has accountability for results of a major program in terms of cost, direction and people management. Provides guidance on process improvements and recommends changes in alignment with business tactics and strategy for area of responsibility. Plans, manages and monitors operational/tactical activities of Staff. Staff members' work may involve strategic issues. Recruits and supports development of direct staff members. Typically reports to MG2 or Director. 
Additional guidance/criteria: Manages and controls activities within a single country or a sub-region which is part of a larger geographical Region; Manages at least 10-18 employees and typically between 8 and 20 direct reports. Span of Control guidelines may differ from these numbers.

How you will make your mark:

  • Responsible for the overall business success of a set of services, solutions, or a sub- set of the portfolio, product family, or functional segment. Establishes strategies and business plans to support business goals and initiatives by driving profitable growth and TCE.
  • Manages and monitors performance of product and service business metrics (e.g., attach, penetration, revenue, TCE); delivers recovery or action plans for exception issues.
  • Identifies and drives process improvements for services route to market, delivery, business operations, and individual and team productivity to improve overall effectiveness.
  • Creating and foster a mutually beneficial relationship with Product Business Groups, Alliance partners, Services functional and support teams, and Regional Business Development Manager, Sales, Solution Partners Organization, and delivery functions.
  • Focal point for functional team issues and resolution.
  • Assigns responsibilities, provides direction, leadership, and coaching, removes barriers as needed to enable direct reports to execute their roles and achieve objectives and goals.
  • Creates a working environment that is conducive to individual growth, high performance, is challenging and rewarding. Achieves diversity and other HR goals.

About You:

  • 8+ years to establish proven track record in Service Business Management Established management background of high-level individual contributors (leading teams).
  • First level and advanced level university degree.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • High market knowledge. Need broad knowledge competitive market dynamics, business models, business strategies, and processes.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of corporate organization, culture and policies, cross functional roles and objectives.
  • Skills in management of people and business relationships, knowledge in organizational design and planning, problem solving, managing individual and team productivity and dynamics, and excellent communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting tools and ability to correctly design reports and interpret their output.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide thought leadership and drive change across functions; highly developed program management and change management.
  • Management by influence with international, multi-cultural, virtual teams.
  • Influence cross-functionally and on senior management level.
