The Opportunity:

As a Unit Level Intelligence (ULI) Information System Security Engineer (ISSE), you will directly contribute to the Air Force Air Combat Command (ACC) Intelligence Directorate's mission by implementing, and maintaining cybersecurity solutions that ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of critical defense systems. You will play a key role in integrating cybersecurity requirements throughout the system lifecycle, supporting Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities, and ensuring compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) and Air Force cybersecurity standards.

The ISSE serves as the technical cybersecurity subject matter expert responsible for implementing, configuring, administering, and maintaining security controls across ULI environment. The position works closely with the Information System Security Manager (ISSM), system administrators, and program personnel to ensure cybersecurity requirements are effectively integrated into system operations and engineering activities while maintaining compliance requirements.

Responsibilities:
•    Provide cybersecurity engineering and technical implementation support for the ULI environment.
•    Assist the ISSM in implementing and maintaining RMF security controls throughout the system lifecycle.
•    Configure, test, implement, and monitor cybersecurity solutions to protect networks, systems, services, and data.
•    Configure, administer, and maintain security controls, system hardening measures, and cybersecurity tools in accordance with DoD and Air Force requirements.
•    Support vulnerability management activities, including vulnerability identification, remediation tracking, and validation of corrective actions.
•    Apply, validate, and maintain Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance across system components.
•    Support system security testing, scanning, and assessment activities using Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP), Evaluate-STIG, and other approved tools.
•    Assist in the development and maintenance of cybersecurity documentation and RMF artifacts, including: 
o    Security Concept of Operations (CONOPS)
o    System Security Plans (SSPs)
o    Security control implementation documentation
o    Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms)
o    Accreditation package artifacts within eMASS and Xacta
•    Ensure systems comply with established Department of Defense (DoD) and Air Force (AF) cybersecurity policies, directives, and requirements.
•    Identify and manage cybersecurity risks within an Information Technology (IT) environment, including analysis, monitoring, mitigation, and reporting of threats and vulnerabilities.
•    Work closely with system administrators, and program personnel to implement secure solutions and maintain operational compliance.
•    Troubleshoot and resolve cybersecurity-related issues affecting system operations and accreditation status.
•    Support cybersecurity assessors, auditors, and inspectors by providing technical evidence, participating in reviews, and implementing corrective actions.
•    Deliver cybersecurity metrics, ensure product quality, and provide technical recommendations to support mission objectives.

Qualifications:

Required: 
•    Active DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
•    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted for education.
•    DoD 8570/8140 IAM Level II certification required (e.g., Security+, CAP, GSLC); IAM Level III certification preferred (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CASP+, CCSP).
•    Minimum 5 years experience with implementing, configuring, administering, and maintaining cybersecurity controls within DoD information systems.

Pay Range:

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$71,500 - $150,200
