Summary of Role:

The RTX Directory Management Protection organization is currently recruiting for an Illumio Network Security Engineer. The successful candidate for this position will be expected to design, document, and implement an Illumio solution, engage with internal RTX business units to evaluate network security issues, propose design options, and work with network engineers to implement new firewall deployments from a network and security policy perspective. 

The candidate is expected to be proficient in Illumio firewall architecture and administration with at least three years of firewall management experience and a strong networking background.  Expertise in DNS, DHCP and IP Address Management systems is also important.

What You Will Do 

  • Design, document and implement an Illumio solution, including application currency and disaster recover planning and execution
  • Develop operational procedures related to managing security policies within Illumio and troubleshooting issues related to Illumio configurations
  • Design and implement micro-segmentation solutions through Illumio segmentation policies
  • Develop and manage security policy to minimize lateral movement of threats across internal network
  • Analyze and map application dependencies and traffic flow to ensure optimal segmentation
  • Troubleshoot Illumio agent
  • Diagnose and resolve network performance issues
  • Ensure deployments meet regulatory compliance requirements
  • Experience with automation and scripting (Python, REST APIs) for policy deployment, validation, and compliance reporting
     

Qualifications You Must Have 

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum 8 years of experience, or an Advanced Degree and a minimum 5 years experience.

Qualifications We Prefer 

  • Experience implementing and managing the Illumio Core product in an enterprise environment
  • Strong understanding of network protocols and firewall technologies
  • Knowledge of micro-segmentation strategies and enforcement using policy-based security model
  • Strong documentation and inter-personal skills
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) as well as Linux systems
  • 3+ years experience with a BS, BA or advanced technical degree desired
  • Illumio Certified Engineer (ICE)
  • Comptia Network+ and Security+

Role Type - Remote:

This position is currently designated as remote. However, the successful candidate will be required to work from one of the 50 U.S. states (excluding U.S. Territories). Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).  An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
