Location: This role requires associates to be in-office 1-3 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a commuting distance from an office.

The Health Policy Manager is responsible for supporting efforts to monitor, research, analyze, and evaluate the impact of proposed state and federal legislation and regulations.

How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Monitors emerging public policy and healthcare issues, as well as, relevant legislative and regulatory developments, to assess potential implications and identify areas that may require Public Affairs engagement.
  • Researches and analyzes complex healthcare and policy issues, working with subject matter experts and business partners to understand key considerations and inform recommendations.
  • Evaluates complex or emerging issues that may not have a clear policy answer or established organizational position, helping inform decisions about whether and how Public Affairs should engage.
  • Supports issues management efforts by bringing together relevant perspectives across Public Affairs, the business, and subject matter experts to identify potential risks and opportunities and contribute to coordinated responses.
  • Represents Public Affairs, as appropriate, in internal discussions, meetings, and calls with business partners and subject matter experts, bringing relevant policy and issues management perspectives to the discussion.
  • Develops clear, concise, and well-reasoned briefing materials, talking points, recommendations, advocacy materials, and other communications to support decision-making and engagement on priority issues.
  • Partners across Public Affairs, including State and Federal Government Affairs, to support coordinated analysis, engagement, and response on issues affecting the organization.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a BA/BS in health policy development; minimum of 5 years of experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:

  • Experience in health policy, public affairs, issues management, government affairs, regulatory affairs, health care, or a related field.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, well-structured materials and adapt writing to established organizational voice, style, and standards.
  • Working knowledge of the health care environment and key health care issues, including areas such as patient safety and quality, with the ability to quickly develop knowledge of new and evolving subject areas.
  • Strong analytical skills and sound judgment, including the ability to work through ambiguity and incomplete information, identify relevant considerations, assess potential implications, and develop thoughtful recommendations.
  • Ability to work effectively with business partners and subject matter experts, synthesize differing perspectives, and communicate complex issues clearly in cross-functional settings.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment, manage competing priorities, navigate input from multiple leaders and partners, and maintain strong follow-through as issues evolve.

For candidates working in person or virtually in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $98,400 to $169,740
