Head of Creative, Business
About the Team
OpenAI didn’t begin as a traditional company. It began as an idea: that artificial intelligence could be developed in a way that benefits everyone. As a creative team, our role is to help make sure the work behind that idea is understood, as it leaves the lab and meets the world.
This company works at the frontier of intelligence. Like any frontier, it’s unfinished, constantly shifting, and still being explored. Our job is to stay close to that uncertainty and help shape how this story gets told, in a way that feels grounded and human. We do this through campaigns, launches, films, brand systems, and work that doesn’t fit neatly into any of those categories yet. This team is for people who want to help shape something from the beginning.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Head of Creative, Business to define how OpenAI shows up to companies, developers, and business leaders adopting AI at work.

You’ll shape how complex products, research ideas, customer stories, and market moments become clear, memorable work across campaigns, launches, events, executive moments, sales and field programs, partner activations, digital experiences, and customer storytelling.
This is a senior leadership role for someone with exceptional creative judgment, strong business instincts, and the ability to build the systems, team, and partner model behind consistently excellent work. You will partner closely with Product Marketing, Field Marketing, Communications, Events, Sales, Partnerships, Product, Research, and the Consumer Brand team to keep OpenAI’s company story connected across distinct audiences.
In This Role, You Will

Set the creative bar across writing, design, storytelling, film, experiential, digital, and presentation work.
Lead major creative initiatives from strategy through execution, making sure the work stays sharp as business priorities, stakeholder input, and timing change.
Build and lead a high-performing team of writers, designers, creative directors, producers, strategists, agencies, and production partners.
Bring AI deeply into the creative process, from concepting and prototyping to production, testing, localization, and team operations.
Serve as a creative advisor to senior leadership on how OpenAI Business shows up with customers, partners, employees, and the broader market.
Balance long-term brand building with near-term business needs across awareness, trust, adoption, engagement, and revenue impact.
You Might Thrive in This Role if You Have
15+ years of experience leading brand, creative, or multidisciplinary marketing teams, with significant senior leadership experience.
A strong portfolio of work across brand platforms, campaigns, product storytelling, customer marketing, events, digital experiences, and executive communications.
Experience building brands for complex technology, AI, cloud, developer, infrastructure, or category-shaping companies.
Strong creative taste and the ability to make technical ideas feel clear, useful, and human.
Experience building creative teams, systems, planning rhythms, agency models, and production approaches that raise the quality of work at scale.
The ability to operate as both a creative leader and a business partner, with strong judgment around prioritization, tradeoffs, and impact.
Experience partnering with product, research, sales, marketing, communications, and executive teams.
A track record of turning customer proof, product truth, and market insight into work that earns attention and builds belief.
Real fluency with AI tools and workflows, with clear examples of how you use them to improve creative quality, speed, experimentation, or team output.
Strong communication skills and the ability to lead through influence in a fast-moving, high-visibility environment.
