Summary of Job Duties:
This position is located at the UAMS Benton/Bryant location.This position will totally and completely assist with removal of all biohazardous waste streams from the UAMS Campus, UAMS Health Benton/Bryant and surrounding sites; segregate, pack and prepare for shipment to a disposal facility. This position will inspect and follow-up with maintaining cleanliness of soiled/dirty utility rooms in all clinical areas of UAMS main campus and Central Arkansas off-site clinics.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
High School, GED
One (1) year experience in a healthcare or regulatory environment OR 2-3 years customer service experience.
Must have a valid driver’s license
Must have proven customer service skills. This position serves the public and is always willing to go the extra mile.
Preferred Qualifications:
2 - 5 years of experience in a healthcare or regulatory environment
3-5 years customer service experience in a logistic based customer facing role.
Additional Information:
Responsibilities:
Collection of all biohazardous waste from pre-determined areas. Inspections of dirty/soiled utility rooms at Central Arkansas off-site hospitals and clinics. Clean and decontaminate dirty/soiled utility rooms and biohazard waste bins as needed.
Segregate all biohazardous waste and Stericycle containers, pack and/ properly seal waste containers and prepare for off campus disposal. Sign waste manifest.
Monitor and replace all Stericycle containers within the Operating Rooms.
Interact with other hospital departments and vendors to provide efficient and safe hazardous waste services.
Maintain log for all work performed and complete all work orders in a timely manner.
Maintain cleanliness of area and perform periodic preventive maintenance on equipment utilized.
May perform other duties as assigned.
