As a Guidance, Navigation, and Control Engineer: Actuators – Level 3 or Level 4 in Chandler, AZ, you’ll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.
This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.
Your Role and Impact:
- Develop and test actuators functionality and integration into larger system architectures, ensuring precise mission-critical performance.
- Design, develop, implement, verify, and test algorithms, software, and simulation tools to perform guidance, navigation, and control for aircraft, spacecraft, submersibles, surface ships, missiles, launch vehicles, and upper stages during powered and coast phases of launch, flight, earth orbit, interplanetary cruise, orbital insertion, and staging events.
- Perform statistical processing of measured data points and their substitution into algorithms simulating physical reality for navigation functions.
- Formulate specific equations to achieve desired positions, orientations, or orbits in space for guidance functions. Develop control laws and hardware/software requirements for aircraft, launch vehicles, or spacecraft as part of control design and analysis processes.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, program, and customer teams to ensure mission success.

Basic Qualifications:
Level 3:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field with 5+ years of experience OR Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience OR Ph.D. with 0 years of experience.
- Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
- Experience with actuators integration into system architectures for guidance, navigation, and control.
- Proficiency with statistical analysis tools or algorithms for navigation functions.
- Familiarity with control law design and performance testing.
Level 4:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field with 9+ years of experience OR Master’s degree with 7+ years of experience OR Ph.D. with 4+ years of experience.
- Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
- Experience with actuators integration into system architectures for guidance, navigation, and control.
- Proficiency with statistical analysis tools or algorithms for navigation functions.
- Familiarity with control law design and performance testing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with interplanetary or orbital insertion systems.
- Hands-on expertise with spacecraft navigation and controls during staging events.
- Proficiency in developing simulation tools for powered and coast phases of missions.
