Global EHS Principle Safety Engineer

We are seeking an experienced EHS Safety Engineer to provide enterprise-level leadership for global safety operations, performance management, governance, and strategic program execution. This role is responsible for defining and driving the Global Health & Safety roadmap, performance framework, digital enablement strategy, and governance systems that support continuous improvement and proactive risk reduction across the organization.
The person will serve as a trusted advisor and authority in safety performance management while acting as the primary interface between the Health & Safety organization and the Global EHS Program Management Office.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage the Global Health & Safety multi-year portfolio and roadmap, including initiative prioritization, resource planning, risk management, governance, benefits tracking, and executive reporting.
- Lead the enterprise Health & Safety performance management framework, including critical metric selection, governance, target setting, reporting standards, and performance evaluation.
- Establish and maintain global governance processes for leading and lagging safety indicators, ensuring consistency in definitions, calculations, data quality and reporting requirements.
- Partner with program owners, engineering teams, EHS professionals, IT, and business leaders to translate strategy into scalable programs, sustainable controls, and measurable outcomes.
- Analyze safety, incident, audit, workforce, and operational data to identify trends, emerging risks, performance gaps, and opportunities for risk reduction and continuous improvement.
- Own the roadmap and lifecycle of digital solutions supporting the Health & Safety portfolio, including reporting platforms, workflow automation, dashboards, Power Platform solutions, and related technologies.
- Collaborate with the Global EHS Program Management organization to ensure effective portfolio execution, resource alignment, governance compliance, and successful implementation of critical initiatives.
- Build organizational capability through technical leadership, mentoring, standards development, and the application of advanced analytics and AI-enabled tools to improve decision-making, reporting, and operational efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Risk Management, Business, Information Systems, or a related technical subject area, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- 10+ years of experience in EHS, operational safety, safety engineering, risk management, enterprise program management, or other high-hazard industry environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in safety performance management, including target governance, metric development, data quality management, trend analysis, and performance reporting.
- Experience leading complex multi-functional programs or portfolios, including planning, governance, dependency management, risk mitigation, and executive partner engagement.
- Proven ability to influence senior leaders, communicate complex technical concepts, and drive organizational improvements through teamwork and technical expertise.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Safety, Risk Management, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as CSP, CIH, PE, PMP, Lean Six Sigma, CEng, or equivalent.
- Experience supporting global operations within semiconductor manufacturing, advanced manufacturing, chemical processing, construction, utilities, or other high-hazard industries.
- Knowledge of safety performance measurement methodologies, statistical analysis, benchmarking, data visualization, and program effectiveness assessment.
- Experience with enterprise EHS, incident management, audit, risk, or performance management systems, including Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint, Dataverse, ServiceNow, SQL, or similar platforms.
