Amentum is seeking a Galley Warehouse Specialist to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. The Galley Warehouse Specialist will be responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and overseeing all food warehouse operations to ensure logistics support for assigned programs. This position manages inventory, accountability, food storage and distribution, personnel supervision, and compliance with company policies. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Plan, direct, coordinate, and evaluate daily Class I warehouse and logistics operations. 
• Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual requirements, and established logistics procedures. 
• Maintain accountability and integrity of government and company property through accurate inventory management and recordkeeping. 
• Monitor food inventory using First in, First out procedures to minimize waste and reduce losses due to expiration. 
• Supervise inventory control and logistics personnel, including scheduling work assignments and monitoring performance. 
• Conduct scheduled and special inventories to ensure inventory accuracy and accountability. 
• Oversee property transfers, adjustments, receipts, issues, turn ins, and inventory documentation. 
• Maintain and update inventory records and logistics databases to ensure accurate reporting and data integrity.
• Perform research and analyze complex supply transactions, inventory discrepancies, and accountability issues. 
• Assist property custodians and hand receipt holders with documentation for lost, damaged or destroyed property.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions while escalating unresolved issues to the Logistics Manager. 
• Prepare reports and respond to customer inquiries regarding inventory, supply status, and logistics operations.
• Develop, implement, and revise local supply procedures, policies, and operational guidance as directed. 
• Ensure proper receipt, storage, issue, and document control of accountable supplies and equipment. 
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and training to inventory control specialists and warehouse personnel. 
• Monitor employee productivity, quality of work, and compliance with established procedures.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized warehouse environment in accordance with safety standards.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Education or certification in logistics, supply chain management, or warehouse operations preferred. 
• Minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in supply, logistics, or warehouse operations. 
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred. 
• Must be in possession of a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
• Passport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.
• Ability to obtain country-specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
• Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance throughout the duration of deployment.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. 
• Employees must read, speak, and comprehend English to the extent that they can perform the contract requirements and comply with installation emergency procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience working in an austere OCONUS (Outside the Continental United States) environment with a multi-national workforce 
• A valid driver’s license to legally operate a motor vehicle. 
• Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics principles. 
• Knowledge of FIFO inventory practices for food storage and distribution.

Working Environment
This position is located on Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), a remote overseas location supporting U.S. Government operations. Employees may work in office, industrial, warehouse, port, airfield, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to high temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements. 
 
Physical Requirements
Requirements may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments. Must be able to meet all medical, security, and deployment requirements associated with assignment to a remote overseas location.
