Fuels Handling Equipment (FHE) Supervisor

Purpose and Scope: 

The FHE Supervisor supervises personnel involved in the periodic maintenance, reconstitution, preservation, storage and deployment of all USAF Fuels Handling Equipment (FHE) and vehicle assets IAW applicable USAF mandatory requirements. Ensures compliance with Performance Work Statement (PWS) and Amentum Quality Management System.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all standard operational procedures, work instructions, USAF Technical Orders industrial safety and environmental policies
  • Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance inspections of Fuels workshops and work areas to ensure that all shop work is performed safely and in accordance with applicable directives.
  • Reviews and verifies all Fuels asset status
  • Identifies asset deficiencies and submits Product Quality Deficiency Reports, as required
  • Submits Self Inspection Form (SIF) detailing inspection findings as required
  • Maintains accountability of all OEL and Non-OEL assets
  • Assigns and directs all shop work on Fuels to achieve maximum efficiency and productivity
  • Supervises the troubleshooting and repair of Fuels
  • Completes and submits employee assessments and evaluations, as required
  • Conducts administrative requirements related to maintenance and repair of Fuels assets
  • Directs parts and material research for the purpose of ordering repair parts and supplies
  • Provides task training and continual training in areas of safety, physical security, quality control, environmental concerns and other areas required by the PWS
  • Supervises preparation of Fuels assets for deployment according to established procedures
  • Performs all other tasks, duties and TDY travel as directed by management
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Four (4) to Six (6) years of experience.
  • Must have outstanding customer service and organizational skills and be able to understand, speak, read and write English.
  • Must possess basic math skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend all required publications in English.
  • Must be proficient in the use of personal computers and Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office to include as a minimum Power Point, Excel and Word Programs
  • Must possess a valid home country driver’s license and ability to obtain host nation driver’s license
  • May be required to operate material handling and light to heavy military type vehicles/equipment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust U.S. Government Clearance.
  • NOTE: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.

Contract Requirements in accordance with Appendix J:

  • Completed Fuels Apprentice Course (J3ABR2F031 00AB), military service or commercial equivalent
  • Completed FORCE Course (J3AZR2F051 05AB) or 5 years’ experience.
  • Government will schedule attendance at FORCE Course within 12 months of employment, if necessary.
  • Complete Cryo Maintainer Course (J3AZR2F051 04AA), military or commercial equivalent, or 5 years' experience.
  • Certification: National Petroleum Management Association Certified Petroleum Specialist (CPs) or equivalent certification is acceptable in place of fuels apprentice training and requirements. 

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Primary functions require the physical ability and mobility to repeatedly work overhead, kneel, crawl, push, pull and climb equipment as required by task. Ability to frequently lift 50 to 75 pounds.  Exposed to various weather conditions (hot, rain, snow) and ability to stand for long periods of time.  Regularly exposed to hazards such as noise, fumes, moving equipment, liquids and lubricants.  Requires constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, and must be able to work under deadlines.  Constant attention to detail in high traffic areas or working in tight, close spaces.  Must be able to read/write/speak English.
