We are looking for a motivated candidate who is eager to learn and expand their analytical and communication skills, while providing day-to-day support for Sales and Trading teams in Financing Solutions.

The Front Office Trading Services (FOTS) team provides support across the globe (North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific) for State Street Market’s Sales & Trading Desks and acts as the primary liaison for external and internal clients. In addition to trading support and client services, the team works closely with Operations groups and participates in projects related to new trading initiatives, platform onboarding, integration, testing and implementation planning.

What you will be responsible for 

As Front Office Trading Services team member you will:

  • Partner with Agency Lending Trading desks to support the lifecycle management of securities lending transactions, ensuring timely execution, settlement, and exception resolution.

  • Manage daily front-office support activities including rate break resolution, contract comparison, loan amendments, trade cancellations, rebookings, recalls, substitutions, and dividend-related processing to ensure contractual accuracy and operational integrity.

  • Review, investigate, and resolve trade discrepancies, settlement issues, collateral exceptions, and counterparty inquiries by working closely with internal stakeholders and external market participants.

  • Serve as a primary escalation point for Operations on Agency Lending trade support matters, providing timely resolution of breaks, settlement concerns, recall activity, and other operational exceptions.

  • Monitor and manage loan activity approaching key market events, including dividend record dates, expected returns, corporate actions, and regulatory or market-specific requirements, ensuring appropriate actions are taken to mitigate client and business risk.

  • Oversee loan recalls, return activity, future loan amendments, and inventory-related adjustments to support client liquidity requirements, fund-level allocation needs, and settlement obligations.

  • Manage front-office contract alignment processes by reviewing and resolving loan fee, rebate, and reclaim rate discrepancies identified through industry platforms and counterparty reporting.

  • Support broker onboarding, borrower account maintenance, and business modifications by partnering with onboarding, legal, risk, compliance, and operations teams to ensure trading readiness and operational accuracy.

  • Perform control and oversight activities related to dividend processing, rate validation, expected return monitoring, loan inventory management, and other key Agency Lending risk controls.

  • Investigate and resolve settlement and collateral-related inquiries, partnering with Operations, Collateral Management, Trading, and counterparties to address exceptions, funding issues, and reconciliation breaks.

  • Produce, review, and maintain business-critical reports, reconciliations, and data quality controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of Agency Lending transactions and positions.

  • Participate in regular business governance forums, trading and operations meetings, onboarding discussions, and client service initiatives to support operational excellence and business growth.

  • Act as a subject matter expert for Agency Lending processes, providing support for strategic initiatives, regulatory and audit requests, system implementations, testing efforts, process enhancements, and business transformation programs.

  • Partner with Trading, Risk, Technology, Operations, and external counterparties on collateral optimization initiatives, tri-party account management, and workflow improvements designed to enhance scalability, controls, and client service.

  • Identify opportunities to improve automation, reduce operational risk, strengthen controls, and streamline end-to-end securities lending processes through proactive collaboration across business and support functions.

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with trading desks, operations teams, clients, brokers, counterparties, and other stakeholders to ensure effective issue resolution and delivery of a best-in-class client experience.

  • Adhere to all business controls, policies, regulatory requirements, and operating procedures, ensuring risks are effectively identified, escalated, and managed in accordance with firm standards. 

Education & Preferred Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

  • 7+ financial services industry and exposure to secure lending, prime services or agency lending

  • Client facing experience is preferred but not required 

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship skills 

Additional requirements 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • Very strong attention to detail 

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and CoPilot – Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint

Salary Range:

$80,000 - $140,000 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
