Finance Program Manager
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Opportunity
Abbott is hiring a Sarbanes-Oxley Finance Program Manager to work out of our Abbott Park location. This Sarbanes-Oxley (Sox) Program Management Office (PMO) position will oversee and serve as the primary PMO contact and resource for management within various Divisions and Corporate functions who are responsible for completion of Sox program activities and will provide ongoing support and guidance. The position will also have significant interaction with other financial and IT management across the Divisions and Corporate functions, and with Abbott's external and internal auditors.
This position manages financial aspects Abbott’s program for compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404, which requires Divisions and Corporate functions to maintain, document and test internal controls over financial reporting. This position will lead or assist with Program Management Office functions including: program planning, scoping and scheduling; communication with divisions and Corporate functions; updating and developing program tools and processes; assisting with Division Sox planning and training activities; monitoring of program status and schedule; management and resolution of issues; review of internal control deficiencies; providing guidance for the evaluation and remediation of deficiencies; monitoring of remediation activities; and determination of readiness for review by internal and external auditors.
What You’ll Work On
- Ensure quality of Division work (for selected Divisions and Corporate functions) and compliance with Abbott Sox program standards.
- Manage program schedule to ensure deliverables are met (includes Division deliverables to PMO and PMO deliverables to auditors).
- Review completed internal control documentation, evaluate testing results, review ratings and conclusions. Review, evaluate and prioritize deficiencies. Communicate expectations for remediation of deficiencies and monitor and manage remediation efforts as appropriate.
- Provide functional leadership and comprehensive ongoing support to Division Sarbanes Managers for the completion of Abbott Sarbanes Oxley Section 404 and 302 requirements. In addition, serve as primary Division resource for technical guidance on Section 404 requirements.
- Complete annual Divisional and Corporate function scoping activities in a timely and thorough manner. Identify and analyze all relevant matters that could impact Sox scope and propose related approaches (during annual scoping and ongoing). Obtain Division, PMO and senior management approvals on proposed scope as appropriate and document conclusions.
- Determine the Sox scope impact of changes to financial processes and IT systems including those resulting from business combinations and other organizational changes.
- Complete ad hoc analysis and reviews of internal controls within Divisions and Corporate functions as necessary.
- Complete documentation and testing of Abbott’s Corporate Control Environment.
Required Qualifications
- This position requires a minimum of 8-10 years progressive financial experience.
- Auditing experience is required.
- Candidates must have strong interpersonal communication and leadership skills and the ability to interact with senior financial management.
- Candidates must be able to manage multiple tasks and work in a dynamic environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- CPA preferred.

The base pay for this position is
$113,300.00 – $226,700.00In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
