Field Systems Engineer (Radar/C-UAS)
CACI is seeking a highly motivated, self-starting Field Systems Engineer to lead the deployment, integration, and optimization of advanced radar and sensor systems for counter-UAS operations. In this role, you will be the tip of the spear for fielding critical technologies, bridging the gap between hardware deployment and complex system optimization.
The ideal candidate is an independent problem solver who thrives in dynamic environments and possesses a deep understanding of diagnosing complex "systems of systems" that integrate RF and SIGINT sensors. You will be responsible for physically setting up sensors at remote sites, configuring systems for On-The-Move (OTM) operations, and analyzing data streams to ensure maximum effectiveness against small, low-profile targets.
Core Responsibilities:
• System Deployment & Integration: Deploy, configure, and register solid-state radar systems—specifically RADA (42 and 82 series) and Echodyne metamaterial platforms—for both static and dynamic OTM applications.
• Systems of Systems Diagnostics: Troubleshoot, debug, and seamlessly integrate complex architectures involving disparate RF, SIGINT, and supporting sensor nodes.
• PNT Configuration: Integrate and calibrate Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) systems to ensure absolute geospatial accuracy and continuous tracking while on the move.
• Optimization & Tuning: Fine-tune radar parameters, clutter maps, and Doppler filters on-site to optimize the detection and tracking of small unmanned aerial systems (sUAS) in highly cluttered environments.
• Field Testing & Validation: Travel to remote operational sites and test ranges to conduct end-to-end performance testing, system validation, and customer demonstrations.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) OR equivalent military/technical field experience.
• Proven track record as a self-starter and aggressive problem solver capable of operating independently to diagnose hardware and software issues within complex RF/SIGINT systems.
• Hands-on experience installing, configuring, and operating tactical radar, electronic warfare, or advanced sensor networks.
• Strong understanding of PNT integration and the unique technical challenges associated with OTM sensor deployments.
• Willingness and ability to travel to field sites for installation, testing, and sustainment activities.
• U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Data science or scripting background (e.g., Python, MATLAB) with the ability to build code, ingest radar data streams, and optimize algorithms for sUAS detection.
• Prior military experience in Air Defense Artillery (ADA), electronic warfare, or tactical network integration.
• Direct, hands-on experience calibrating and troubleshooting RADA or Echodyne systems in austere environments.
