The Boeing Company is looking for an Experienced Simulation Software Engineer - Training Systems to join our Government Vehicle Health Management Systems (GVHMS) team in Hazelwood, MO.

The Government Training Team develops innovative simulation software solutions that advance pilot readiness and mission success. This Software Engineer role involves designing, architecting, and developing simulation models, virtual environments, and frameworks, while collaborating with stakeholders to optimize overall simulation performance. Responsibilities include simulation validation, integration, and modernization of legacy software within a secure Agile development environment. The role requires strong expertise in C++, with additional knowledge of Python, containerization, and cloud-based technologies. Familiarity with emerging software engineering methods and prior aviation or engineering experience are highly valued for contributing to this fast-paced, mission-focused team.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Designs, architects, and develops simulation models, simulation visualizations, virtual environments/platforms, and frameworks to enhance test performance, safety, and durability of software and hardware throughout the entire product lifecycle

  • Partners with stakeholders to identify simulation requirements and dynamics of the modeled systems

  • Performs design, modeling, simulation, testing, and analysis to assess and optimize overall system performance and capabilities

  • Performs data collection and processing for use in simulations

  • Validates, verifies, and refines simulation code, models, test procedures, and test environments; executes tests and documents results against real-world or benchmark data

  • Documents and maintains technical code, algorithms, specifications, and descriptions of simulation models

  • Partners with cross-functional engineering teams to enable integration of simulation software with devices and systems

  • Implements current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and methods in the software engineering simulation environment

  • Modernizes, migrates, sustains, and updates simulation software to adapt legacy systems to new platforms

  • Performs simulation software project management functions

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors Degree

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship

  • 5+ years of experience developing and debugging software using high level programming languages (C, C++)

  • 2+ years of experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Level 3: Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 5+ years of related work experience OR Bachelor’s Degree and 9+ years of directly related work experience OR 13+ years of related, relevant experience

  • 3+ years of experience with release tools (Azure DevOps, Artifactory, Gitlab, Maven), configuration management, monitoring, virtualization and containerization

  • 1+ years of experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI) software development

Summary Pay Range for Experienced (Level 3): $126,650 - $171,350

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
