A Day in the Life

The Executive Search function partners with senior business leaders to identify, assess, and attract executive talent for critical leadership positions across the organization. The team combines executive search expertise, talent market intelligence, executive research, and strategic talent advisory capabilities to support leadership hiring decisions, succession planning, and long-term talent strategies.

This position is based in the United States and operates in a remote work environment. The role collaborates closely with Hiring Managers, Human Resources, Talent Management, and executive stakeholders while supporting executive searches across multiple functions and business areas.

Occasional travel may be required.

         

         

As an Executive Search Consultant, you will lead executive talent research, sourcing, and market intelligence activities that support critical leadership hiring initiatives. Working closely with the Director of Global Executive Search and business stakeholders, you will identify and engage senior-level talent, provide data-driven market insights, and help build executive talent pipelines that support both current and future organizational needs.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Partner with Hiring Managers and stakeholders to define executive search strategies, leadership requirements, and candidate profiles for executive-level hiring initiatives.

  • Develop and execute research strategies to map target industries, competitor organizations, and executive talent pools.

  • Identify, evaluate, and engage executive candidates through advanced sourcing methodologies, including LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search techniques, networking, and market mapping.

  • Create and maintain executive talent pipelines and target company lists to support current searches and long-term succession planning efforts.

  • Conduct initial candidate assessments to evaluate qualifications, leadership experience, career interests, and alignment with search criteria.

  • Gather, analyze, and communicate market intelligence, including talent availability, competitive landscapes, and compensation trends, to inform hiring strategies.

  • Prepare and present executive search updates, talent market analyses, candidate pipeline reports, and strategic recommendations to stakeholders.

  • Maintain accurate and current candidate, company, and search activity data within Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of experience in executive search, executive recruitment, or executive talent sourcing focused on leadership and executive-level talent; OR Advanced degree and 8+ years of experience in executive search, executive recruitment, or executive talent sourcing focused on leadership and executive-level talent.

  • Experience conducting executive talent research, market mapping, and proactive sourcing for leadership-level positions.

  • Experience utilizing LinkedIn Recruiter, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms, and advanced Boolean search techniques.

  • Experience conducting candidate assessments and managing executive-level candidate engagement throughout the search process.

  • Experience presenting executive talent market insights, sourcing strategies, and candidate pipeline updates to business stakeholders and senior leaders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong preference for experience recruiting executive-level talent within the medical technology, medical device, healthcare technology, or life sciences industries.

  • Experience within a retained executive search firm, boutique executive search organization, or corporate executive recruiting function.

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related business discipline.

  • Experience supporting executive succession planning and long-term leadership pipeline strategies.

  • Knowledge of executive compensation benchmarking, competitive talent analysis, and leadership market trends.

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$144,800.00 - $217,200.00

 

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

 

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

 

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns.  Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
