Job Summary

This role is responsible for defining HP’s global corporate events strategy and leading a broad, high-impact function that shapes  and delivers flagship experiences such as One HP Amplify. The Director elevates corporate events into strategic business platforms that support customer, partner, and executive engagement aligned with HP’s commercial priorities. The role owns strategy, governance, business planning, operational execution, and multi-million-dollar budgets for the global events function. Acting as a key advisor to executive management, this leader influences business direction, manages activities globally, and leads senior individual contributors, managers, and teams to deliver measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Defines and executes the global corporate events strategy, positioning flagship events such as HP Amplify as business and customer engagement platforms.
  • Leads end-to-end planning and delivery of large-scale events, ensuring seamless execution of keynotes, breakout sessions, product showcases, executive engagements, and customer experiences.
  • Delivers measurable business impact through pipeline influence, engagement, brand perception, executive visibility, and customer outcomes.
  • Owns functional, operational, and strategic goals across audience targeting, customer and partner engagement, ABM priorities, and executive programs.
  • Sets governance and operating models for global event execution, including venue strategy, logistics, production, risk management, and attendee experience design.
  • Influences and aligns Marketing, Sales, Customer Experience, regional leaders, and executive management to ensure consistent messaging, executive readiness, and experience delivery across all touchpoints.
  • Defines and manages content strategy for flagship events, including executive keynotes, breakout sessions, and storytelling aligned with HP’s Future of Work, AI, and commercial narratives.
  • Establishes decision frameworks and performance measures to evaluate event ROI, optimize the event portfolio, and guide business planning.
  • Select and Manage  global agencies, production partners, and vendors, ensuring quality, innovation, and compliance with HP standards.
  • Controls multi-million-dollar budgets, ensuring financial governance, cost efficiency, and investment prioritization.
  • Leads post-event analysis, leveraging data insights, attendee feedback, and performance metrics to continuously improve experiences and outcomes.
  • Develops and mentors a high-performing global team, fostering collaboration, innovation, accountability, and excellence in event delivery.
  • Ensures all event-related activities comply with legal, data protection, and corporate policies.

Education & Experience Recommended

  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years of experience in global event management, experiential marketing, strategic programs, or related functions, including leadership of large-scale flagship events.
  • Proven experience delivering complex global events such as HP Amplify or equivalent large-scale B2B flagship conferences.
  • Experience leading regional or global teams and managing high-level individual contributors, managers, and/or directors in a matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to advise executive management, shape strategic direction, and implement business plans within a defined area of responsibility.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Advanced strategic thinking and business acumen, with the ability to connect events to enterprise commercial outcomes.
  • Expertise in large-scale event management, including global conferences, executive programs, and customer experiences.
  • Ability to establish governance, operating models, and performance frameworks for a large or broad function.
  • Deep understanding of B2B engagement models, including ABM and high-value customer journeys.
  • Exceptional executive stakeholder management, with the ability to advise and align senior leaders across regions, functions, and business priorities.
  • Strong people leadership capabilities, including coaching senior talent, building organizational capability, and driving accountability across global teams.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills in complex environments.
  • Outstanding communication and storytelling skills, with experience supporting executive-level content.
  • Analytical mindset with experience measuring event performance and ROI.
  • Vendor and agency management expertise.
  • Ability to operate under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a matrix organization.
  • High adaptability and innovation mindset.

Complexity
Works on highly complex, global initiatives that impact HP’s brand perception, customer engagement, and business performance. The role is fully accountable for a designated global function, requiring the ability to navigate ambiguity, influence executive leadership, and integrate multiple priorities into cohesive event strategies and business plans. Decisions may affect regional or global operations, stakeholder alignment, and investment priorities.
