We have an opportunity for a motivated, self-directed Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) Manager to support the sites in Collin’s South Region. As an EHS Manager, Atlanta Service Center, you’ll work in a fast-paced environment and will foster employee engagement and drive risk reduction and continuous improvement of the EH&S program. This is a unique opportunity that will give you the chance to see our products as they are produced in the factory and then in use at customer locations.   

What You Will Do:

  • Recognizing, evaluating and controlling hazardous workplace conditions. 
  • Taking proactive steps to ensure the safety and health of site employees and influence safe behaviors. 
  • Partnering with site POCs and EH&S subject matter experts to assure compliance including appropriate documentation to prove alignment with federal, state, local and company EH&S requirements. 
  • Executing initiatives, programs, reports and training across multiple EH&S disciplines, as required to achieve and maintain compliance. 
  • Investigating, analyzing and interpreting data from injuries and near-misses, and ensuring corrective actions are completed on time. 
  • Interacting with employees of all levels, promoting relationships, learning the tasks employees perform and becoming known as a resource to the employees at the sites within your region.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of EH&S strategic initiatives that drive continuous improvement. 
  • Identifying environmental risk and supporting the sites’ environmental compliance programs, including hazardous waste management, stormwater and ground-water protection plans, air quality permitting, wastewater and toxic chemical reporting. 
  • Developing and implementing sustainability practices and programs related to waste, water, and greenhouse gases in alignment with our long-term goals.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
  • Experience in safety auditing, inspection, and identifying hazards.
  • Experience working in regulated industries such as aerospace, defense, medical, or similar high-reliability sectors.
  • Experience leading teams and performance.
  • Must be able to travel occasionally to additional sites as needed.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM).
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
  • Certification or experience managing Ergonomic risk reduction.
  • ACE, Lean Manufacturing, Six-Sigma or related Continuous Improvement tools and a proven track record of cost savings and continuous improvement accomplishments.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate in a straightforward manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and cultural awareness.
  • Executive presence and comfortable interacting with leadership.
  • Well versed in risk assessment and risk reduction.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. Relocation assistance may be considered.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
