Collins Aerospace’s Global Technical Solutions team in Puerto Rico is looking for an Engineer II to join our organization. We are looking for a strong, passionate problem-solver with an action-oriented, collaborative mindset who strives to exceed expectations.

In this Engineer II, MCAD Drafting Services and Product Definition role, you will

focus on creating precise 3D models and 2D engineering drawings for aerospace components, ensuring compliance with industry standards and program requirements. It involves collaborating with cross‑functional teams, performing tolerance analyses, supporting configuration management, resolving design issues, and contributing to continuous improvement of drafting and product definition processes.

This position will sit at our Santa Isabel, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

This role is categorized as hybrid, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.

What YOU will do:

  • Develop and maintain 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings for aerospace components and systems using tools such as NX, Creo, CATIA, or SolidWorks. 
  • Translate conceptual designs into detailed product definitions, adhering to engineering 
    standards and industry regulations (e.g., ASME Y14.5 for GD&T). 
  • Perform tolerance analysis to ensure proper fit, form, and function of components and assemblies. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure designs meet customer and program requirements. 
  • Support configuration management and maintain accurate records of design changes in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems (e.g., Teamcenter or equivalent). 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues during manufacturing and production. 
  • Participate in design reviews and provide input on manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and performance improvements. 
  • Ensure compliance with Collins Aerospace lifecycle program management (RLPM) processes and tools. 
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing drafting and product definition workflows. 

Qualifications you must have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
  • Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience with GD&T principles
  • Experience with ASME standards
  • Experience with PDM (Teamcenter, ENOVIA, etc.)
  • Experience with 3D CAD modeling software (NX or SolidWorks preferred)
