The SETC Effectors team is seeking a seasoned engineering leader with experience in system design, integration, verification, and test execution across complex defense programs. This position will require someone with the ability to lead cross-functional engineering teams and manage high-impact engineering change activities in support of product improvements, requirement updates, and customer-directed changes, supplier requests in a production environment. This individual must have a demonstrated expertise in planning, developing, and executing Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), including cost estimation, schedule development, technical scope definition, and coordination across Integrated Product Teams (IPTs). Skilled at ensuring alignment of engineering execution with program objectives, customer requirements, established TDP baselines, and contract requirements.

What You Will Do

  • Lead preparation, coordination, and delivery of Engineering Change Proposals, including development of technical scope, cost, schedule, and risk impacts.

  • Collaborate with engineering, program management, finance, and supply chain to ensure ECP accuracy, completeness, and alignment with program objectives.

  • Oversee engineering execution associated with approved changes, ensuring updated requirements, design modifications, and verification activities are performed correctly.

  • Support proposal, EAC, and financial planning activities with data‑driven inputs related to engineering changes.

  • Participate in development and maintenance documentation required for formal reviews—including Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs), Test Data Reviews (TDRs), and Configuration Control Boards (CCBs).

  • Ensure integration and test activities reflect approved changes and support field qualification, verification, validation efforts of change for production incorporation.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of five (5) years of prior relevant experience

  • Engineering experience across system integration, test, verification, and/or configuration management.

  • Experience in Verification & Validation methods and test planning.

  • Experience generating technical scope, work statements, and/or cost/schedule estimates for proposals or engineering changes.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) experience.

  • Experience developing or evaluating verification strategies and requirements flows.

  • Experience project definition, technical scope definition and proposal activities.

  • Strong communication skills with demonstrated effectiveness supporting customers and program leadership in a high‑visibility environment.

  • Background in Systems Engineering, Production, Development efforts

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
