Summary of Role:

GlobalFoundries is seeking a strategic and business-focused Director for its Design Ecosystem  & IP Partnerships to lead the development and execution of GF's design ecosystem & IP partnership strategy. This leader will be responsible for building and managing strategic relationships across EDA and IP partners, Design related AI companies, startups, technology partners, research institutions and industry alliances to accelerate growth, innovation, and business impact impacting how GF and our customers design and deliver semiconductor products into the market.

Essential Responsibilities:

GlobalFoundries is seeking a strategic and business-focused Director for its Design Ecosystem  & IP Partnerships to lead the development and execution of GF's design ecosystem & IP partnership strategy. This leader will be responsible for building and managing strategic relationships across EDA and IP partners, Design related AI companies, startups, technology partners, research institutions and industry alliances to accelerate growth, innovation, and business impact impacting how GF and our customers design and deliver semiconductor products into the market.

Working closely with the Chief Strategy Officer and senior leaders across Product, Business Units, GFLabs, Sales, Corporate Development, and Marketing, this individual will identify, develop, and scale partnerships that strengthen GF's market position, expand access to emerging markets, and enable new business opportunities.

This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, business development expertise, executive relationship management, and strong cross-functional leadership.

Other Responsibilities: 

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs. 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Technology, or related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in strategic partnerships, alliances, business development, corporate strategy, product management, or related functions.
  • Proven track record developing and managing strategic partnerships that drive business results.
  • Experience working across global and matrixed organizations.
  • Strong commercial and relationship management skills.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and executive influence capabilities.
  • Ability to translate market and technology trends into actionable partnership strategies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or advanced technical degree.
  • Semiconductor industry experience.
  • Experience working with hyperscalers, AI companies, or strategic technology ecosystems.
  • Knowledge of emerging semiconductor market trends and technology partnerships.
  • Experience supporting incubation, innovation, or new business initiatives.
  • Existing network across relevant technology and industry ecosystems.

Expected Salary Range

$193,000.00 - $319,000.00

The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
