Deputy Program Manager

The Opportunity:

An effective program requires a manager who is passionate about guiding it through the complexities of its lifecycle. It requires someone who is dedicated to identifying challenges, mitigating risks, and supporting a team with vision and focus.

As the Deputy Program Manager, you will support Space system hardware and software development programs as well as Internal Research & Development (IRAD) efforts. This role ensures disciplined Agile execution, cross‑team synchronization, and programmatic oversight to meet technical, cost, and schedule objectives. This role identifies opportunities to grow the business by identifying alignment between the client’s mission and our development and IRAD programs. To successfully grow the business, this position blends Capture and Proposal Manager responsibilities—such as market assessment, conducting or supporting client meetings, leading or facilitating Capture and proposal processes, and developing proposal artifacts—with deputy project management tasks aligned with organizational program governance processes. Agile responsibilities are consistent with coaching teams, improving Scrum processes, and fostering self‑organization.

What You'll Do:

  • Support the Technical Program Manager with planning, execution, and monitoring of Space RF system R&D programs.

  • Assist in managing scope, cost, schedule, risks, staffing alignment, and deliverables.

  • Develop, update, and maintain program documentation and reporting artifacts.

  • Coordinate with engineering leads, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure integrated execution.

  • Prepare for and support customer engagements, design reviews, and PMRs.

  • Ensure compliance with internal program management processes and contract requirements.

  • Create both strategic executive-level briefings on project status, impact, and investment needs as well as tactical working-level briefings to organize both technical and non-technical staff to align workstreams, deconflict taskings, and meet project deadlines

  • Lead and facilitate Capture and Proposal milestones (kickoffs, gate reviews, color team reviews, retrospectives)

  • Remove impediments, drive continuous improvement, and maintain sustainable team velocity.

  • Coach cross‑functional engineering teams, including RF hardware, FPGA, embedded software, DSP, Mechanical engineering, and systems engineering throughout the business development lifecycle.

  • Coordinate technical dependencies across multiple workstreams and partner teams.

  • Track multiple workstreams, white papers, proposal efforts, internal investment efforts, and other related activities including tracking deadlines, deconflicting resources, and managing dynamic prioritization across the portfolio
