Compensation Range:

$21.78 - $30.53

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

Coordinates and supports educational programs in the department as directed. Primarily assigned to the Clinical Medical Technology Program and the Medical Student rotations. Coordinates educational events as assigned. Serves as back up to additional education programs as needed. Completes additional education related functions as directed.

Essential Functions:

  • Serves as faculty support for the Vice Chair for Education.
  • Leads the education team in planning and coordinating the Pathology Department Celebrations: CMT Program Graduation; Pathology Research Day; the Annual Symposium and the Annual Celebration. Follows department and university procedures for submission of financial forms. Coordinates travel and hotel accommodations for guest speakers.
  • Coordinates Medical Student onboarding and training in Pathology. Keeps faculty, medical students and directors up to date with current policies and procedures. Secures lecture rooms and resources as needed. Coordinates learning experiences in the Explorations in Pathology program.
  • Coordinates candidate application processes for the CMT Program. Works in the application system (SLATE) to organize candidate files and contacts them if further materials are required. Schedules interviews for each candidate with 2 supervisors and the program director. Records interview outcomes; keeps account of admits/declines.
  • Stays current with university, department and program policies and systems. Updates Education Department websites and marketing materials as directed.
  • Ensures that University Polices for Onboarding and off boarding Medical Students and CMT Students are followed. Assists incoming visitors and students with required paperwork, Parking and Med Center ID’s.
  • Assists in keeping pathology department program curriculum up to date in Black Board Learning Management System. Proctors exams as needed.
  • Maintains in person and email correspondences with internal and external contacts as required to coordinate department education events, meetings & activities.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Education & Experience:

  • Associate's degree and 3 years of progressively responsible experience in administrative support required
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with event planning preferred


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, FileMaker Pro, virtual collaboration tools (Zoom, Box), Adobe, etc. required
  • Office procedures, database entry principles, customer service and public relations principles, principles of math, mailing and distribution methods, training principles, leadership principles, intermediate to advanced budget administration principles, inventory and supply maintenance principles, event planning required
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact, both verbally and in writing, with all people required
  • Intermediate knowledge of hardware and software functionality preferred
  • Ability to work efficiently & effectively in a dynamic environment preferred.
  • Effective time management; organization; and ability to prioritize and adjust as needed preferred.
