Data Scientist - Senior
DIA's analysts are swimming in more data than any human can read. Your job is to make that data work for them. As a Data Scientist supporting the Defense Intelligence Enterprise, you'll build the tools, models, and pipelines that turn massive, messy, multi-INT data into insight, from recommendation engines and automated lead scoring to predictive models that help analysts see around corners. At the senior level, you'll do this work at its highest degree of difficulty, and you'll multiply your impact by leading and mentoring the team around you. This position is contingent upon award of contract, business needs, security clearance verification, and funding availability.
Location: National Capital Region (NCR)
Work Schedule: (shift hours and days of the week)
0600 and 1800 – 8 hours M-F
Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead data science efforts from problem framing through deployed capability, setting technical direction for mid-level data scientists
- Architect approaches for large-data multi-INT analytics, machine learning, and automated predictive analytics across the enterprise
- Advise government customers on managing data within hardware, software, storage, and bandwidth constraints
- Review models, code, and analytic products for statistical soundness before they reach decision makers
- Mentor the team and evangelize best practices in reproducible, rigorous data science
Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- 12+ years of relevant data science experience, with recent experience within the last 2 years
- Master's degree desired in data science, computer science, statistics, or a related field
- Prior experience with large-data multi-INT analytics, machine learning, and automated predictive analytics
- Demonstrated technical leadership of data science teams or efforts
Security Clearance Required:
Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance
Minimum Education:
Master's degree desired in data science, computer science, statistics, or a related field
Minimum Years of Experience:
12+ years of relevant data science experience, with recent experience within the last 2 years
Preferred Qualifications:
- DIA or Defense Intelligence Enterprise experience
- Program transition support experience
- Advanced certifications or published work in ML or applied statistics

The base salary range for this position is $140k to $180k. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
