POSITION OVERVIEW
The Controls Engineer II will develop, deploy, and improve Gentex automated manufacturing systems.
Location: This position requires on-site work at a Gentex facility. This role is not eligible for remote work.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Provide professional, expert-like support for new and existing automated systems.
- Monitor and define areas of improvement within existing automated equipment.
- Develop PLC programs and software for new and existing equipment.
- Create electrical and pneumatic schematics.
- Evaluate and specify hardware and software for automated equipment.
- Work with other Engineers to standardize automated and programming solutions across similar equipment.
- Support engineering team members in the development of new processes for manufacturing.
- Educate and train production support teams during equipment or software launch.
- Research and develop new solutions for automated equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.

WHAT TO BRING
- 4-year Engineering degree, or combination of education and equivalent controls engineering experience.
- At least 3 years of experience designing, programming or integrating automated equipment.
- Experience with robotics applications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
This role will primarily support Large Area Device manufacturing at both the North Riley Campus and State Street.
