Control Framework Business Analyst - Alpha Data Services, Assistant Vice President

Who we are looking for.

We are looking for an experienced business analyst with deep knowledge of building and implementing control frameworks. The role will require you to co-ordinate with Client Implementation teams to establish clients’ scope, and work with our internal product teams to ensure the control framework is operational in line with client Implementation timelines.

Responsibilities  

  • Co-ordinate across various internal Alpha Data Service teams to ensure client requirements and timelines are fully recorded in Jira.

  • Develop a deep understanding of how IDC data quality checks and workflows are constructed.

  • Develop a deep understanding of how the ADS Alpha Service Desk surfaces client the IDC checks.

  • Take ownership of tracking and reporting of progress against client deliverables, escalating issues where required.

  • Engage with practice areas to develop and grow the product control and dashboard offering.

Skills & Attributes

  • Analytical thinking with strong problem‑solving abilities.

  • Proficiency in SQL with 5+ years of hands‑on experience (complex queries, performance tuning, data modelling).

  • Working knowledge of ETL processes and data flows, including validation, transformation, and loading.

  • High proficiency in Excel for data analysis (formulas, pivot tables, lookups, automation, etc.).

  • Experience working in Agile environments (e.g., Jira, Confluence).

  • Solid understanding of financial markets and asset classes.

  • Experience with large datasets and strong capability in data analysis and reconciliation.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyse business requirements and produce clear, structured requirement documentation.

  • Front, Middle and Back Office domain knowledge.

  • Familiarity with data quality checks, testing workflows, and/or ADP interfaces.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, computer science, data science, or a related field.

  • Experience in data analysis or data management within asset management or financial services.

  • Strong understanding of financial instruments (equities, fixed income, derivatives).

  • Proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating large datasets.

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.

Salary Range:

$80,000 - $140,000 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
