Construction Manager
The Construction Manager provides on-site administrative, technical management, and leadership for the design and contract compliance, and construction of large multi-million-dollar Government funded construction projects at a specified project site. This position will be in support of the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program (AFCAP) and it is located at Al Udeid Air Base (AUAB), Doha, Qatar.
Essential Responsibilities:
Construction Manager shall read, interpret, and decipher all construction documents (schedules, specifications, blueprints, schematics, diagrams, etc.), participate in design reviews, and ensure that all construction is performed in accordance with the construction documents. Construction managers shall review construction sites daily, document the reviews on AF Form 1477, and file the documentation in the project folder. Construction managers shall also review shop drawings and product submittals and provide recommendations through the Site Manager.
Experience & Education:
Construction Manager must have At least ten (10) years of experience in construction management and inspection, or a two (2) year associate's degree in Construction Management or related degree and five (5) years of field. experience, and at least two (2) years of experience working with public/government organizations.
Must be proficient in overseeing construction projects verifying compliance with specifications.
Must have knowledge of principles of planning, project design reviews, project management, construction management and ability to interpret plans and drawings.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance.
Strong ability to work as a member of a diverse, dynamic team.
Outstanding problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable.
Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.
